Tales of Xillia Extend Summarization of Every Cutscene

*There are two characters to choose from when playing this game: Milla or Jude. This follows the Milla side of things though pieces of Jude's will be added in to take care of what is missing*

At the shrine of Milla Maxwell, proclaimed the Lord of Spirits, her eyes open as she appears to have a mission in mind of some kind. She moves quickly towards Fennmont where she steps across the water running through it. As she is about to break through an area, Jude Mathis, a medical student, encounters her there. When he asks her what is going on one too many times, she create a water bubble around him until he can calm down.

The Lance of Kresnik is switched on by Agria before Milla is able to destroy the weapon. It taps directly into the mana lobes of anybody in the room, Agria included. The Four Spirits are trapped within the weapon with Milla no longer able to summon them. Jude is informed by the spirits to take Milla and run. The room housing the lance begins to crumble leaving both Milla and Jude to fall away. Alvin, not having been named yet, was watching from the sidelines and walks away. His awareness of what is going on will not be brought up until later.

Milla decides to return to Nia Khera after Jude reminds her that she cannot destroy the weapon with the Four Spiritis. Milla is stoed by a guard and Jude steps in which puts him along with her on wanted posters(and poorly drawn ones at that). They are confronted at the seahaven that Jude suggests that they go through. As Milla has no idea how to get there, Jude has to lead her there. As they are unable to get through, the situation becomes quite tense until they have no choice but to try and fight their way through. Instead Milla sees the chance to jump on the boat. She says goodbye to Jude who is forced to try and fail at talking his way through.

This is where Alvin steps in to fight the guards off, so that the two of them can jump onto the boat along with Milla. This means that Alvin literally picks up Jude and jumps onto the boat. Introductions all around, Jude is still shaken by ending up a criminal. They are grilled by the captain, but remain on the ship heading towards Auj Oule. Jude asks why Alvin is with them and he says he is in it for the cash. He claims to be a mercenary. When they claim to not have money for him, he complains about this being charity work. He makes a comment about Jude being a brave kid, or at least putting on a brave face. Milla does not show any concern.

Milla makes a comment about Alvin being a swordsman. She asks him to teach him the ways of the sword. Alvin tells them that there should be paying customers around(thus where the quests begin)to earn the money they cannot pay him in return for the training. He goes over the basics of the sword with Milla. She tells Jude that he does not need to come along and that he must consider the consequences of going along with her. Alvin also introduces them to Linked Combat that they did not know about before he showed them. They defeat the monsters from the quest they were given at the seahaven(Ahladi Seahaven). The comment is made that Alvin is a pro at what he does with quests. Milla collapses. They discover that because she lost the Four Spirits, so she had been starved. She is amused that she gets to experience this now.

They go to the inn at the seahaven. They are given access to the kitchen to get food when they are told that the cooks are not in yet. Milla makes a comment about human expressions for hunger. Alvin gives her a strange look. In the morning, Milla discusses continuing to Nia Khera to attempt to summonr the Four Spirits. She asks Jude to accompany her there and he accepts. She says that she will discuss with the townspeople there about his situation to allow him to stay there. Alvin essentially invites himself saying that Milla could use more work with the sword. They make it to Hamil on the way to Nia Khera and are greeted by the elder. She expresses that she has only heard stories of Nia Khera. Alvin suggests that they need to rest. The mayor says she will allow them to stay at her house.

In the morning, Milla says that she is watching people where she conveys her continued misunderstanding of people. She considers them to be infants. She expresses that she will destroy the Lance of Kresnik if she must to save the world. They must go through the Kijara Seafalls. While they are there, soldiers show up. Whether or not they are after them is unknown. They decide to charge through the guards near where they need to go. This is where a girl with a doll shows up to ask them what they are doing. The girl sends the doll to distract the soldiers(Rashugal) to let them through. A hulk of a man comes along and makes a comment that the guards showing up there is apparently a big deal, so he personally knocks them out.

Jude makes a comment and Milla tells him that he can go talk to the guards if he is unsure if the two who helped them were injured. Milla makes it clear she does not have time for sentiments or emotions. She does not believe emotions will help her complete her mission. She tells Jude to be himself to get his answers. Alvin reminds him that he is only human. Alvin bypasses the question of what his mission is. During the way, Alvin suggests that they rest. Milla does not want to, but they end up doing that anyways.. While there, Milla is attacked by a scantily clad lady with a book of magic that refuses to give her name. She says she is looking for the treasure that Milla has and denies to have. The woman hurts Milla with her book. Alvin and Jude show up to see what is going on. Alvin gets a look on his face when he and the woman lock eyes and demands to know what she is doing.

The woman makes a threat over his 'golden goose'. Jude is able to figure out what to do in an instant and tells Alvin to fire at a particular part of the mountain that begins to fall and provides the right distraction to free Milla. The have to fight off the monster they used for the distraction. They are impressed with Jude's instinct. They comment that not many can think that quickly. Milla thanks them and they are on their way. Jude asks about the woman and Alvin claims that he has no idea who she is and that she seemed to know him though. They make it to Nia Khera. She is greeted by many there with a bow. She says there is no need for formalities. Ivar is not there. To do the ritual for the Four Spirits, Jude and Alvin collect the stones that are needed.

Alvin is amazed at how people worship Milla. Worshipers are niot around as much because people in any religion start not to follow the legends. Spirits are seen more as part of nature. Kresnik's descendents are all in the town of Nia Khera according to a villager there. Jude mentions that the Six Ruling Houses of Rashugal are a part of the legend as well, saying that the founders were supposed to be the six descendents of Maxwell and Kresnik. The ilder villager claims this to be no more than a legend(absurd origin story). They go to Milla's shrine to perform the Four's Advent to summon the Four. They place the stones, but the ritual does not work. Ivar, the handmaid, comes to her aid. Alvin asks nonchalantly if the spirits are dead. Ivar goes on a rant. Milla makes a comment that the Spyrix has grown strong to be able to capture the Four.

Jude stays behind to wait for Milla to exit the shrine to tell her that he wants to go with her. She mentions that the Lance used the mana from the people and the spirits again to be able to be used, so she will go to Fennmont to destroy it. Jude asks that he be able to come with her. She said that she learned compassion. Alvin is surprised that Jude has decided to go along. Milla thanks Alvin and tries to give him money. Alvin claims one of the villagers said they would pay him. Ivar is confused when Milla thanks him for asking Alvin to accompany them. The elder says that he collected money to pay Alvin and he hands it over. They part ways with Alvin. Ivar wants to go instead of Jude, but Milla puts him in his place and tells him to watch over Nia Khera.

Milla agrees they should pass through Hamil to get a peek at Rashugal in Auj Oule. She says that they may be able to find their way into Fennmont. From afar, a mysterious group stands. The leader asks the woman, named here as Presa, that attacked Milla at the Kijera Waterfalls if it is true that Milla lost her power. She confirms this. Another man mentions a key that may have been hidden, alluding likely to the disc-like object Milla looked at on her own in the shrine. The man that attacked the Rashugal soldiers in Hamil that allowed the group to escape to Nia Khera earlier said that if he had known that was Maxwell, referring to Milla, then he would have forced to to give away where the key was. The leader says it does not matter and that they will allow Milla and her group to attract Rashugal's attention while they put the pieces together in the background. He asks about what a woman named Agria is doing. It is mentioned that a new key is to be made to replace the old one(referring likely to what will power the Lance).

The leader says he cannot ignore this. The man from Hamil earlier is referred to as Jiao and is told he no longer needs to watch over the girl(not yet revealed by name) and to search for the key. He questions this and is told that with the Rashugal soldiers withdrawing, he does not need to monitor her himself. Presa says that this makes sense since the data is safe now. The man that addressed Jiao turns to Presa and tells her to join Agria to infiltrate Fennmont. Presa questions whether leaving Milla alone is wise and is told that they have another pawn on the board they will have search for the key as well. The mysterious group leaves.

Alvin interrupts while Milla is mulling over taking a boat straight to Fennmont and says that he definitely is against taking the land route from Auj Oule as it would be a pain to cross the mountains. He suggests heading towards Sharilton from the Sapstrath Seahaven. He claims that Ivar gave him the job to watch over Milla. He says that Ivar does not trust Jude. He has a positive welcoming from both Jude and Milla. Alvin asks what the plan is and Milla says they are to return to Hamil to investigate Rashugal's movements.

When they arrive in Hamil, the villagers are calling the girl with the puppet that tried to help the group earlier a monster and throwing stones at her. Jude stops them to ask the girl if she is okay. The mayor is suddenly rude towards them. Rashugal soldiers took out their frustrations on the villagers, so she is blaming them as outsiders. The mayor tells them to leave at once. Milla suggests that they ask around. The mayor is telling them to get lost and Alvin questions why the same hospitality is not there anymore. Milla says they will be leaving soon and Alvin smarts off. The mayor tells them that Jiao saved them from the soldiers. She calls the girl accursed. She blames Jiao for bringing the girl and says they are through with outsiders. Jude reunites with them and has the girl with him.

Jude says they need to talk about the girl who is named Elize. They agree that the situation will not get any better with being in Hamil. Milla questions whether or not this is a good idea. Milla finally agrees that she can come. She reminds Jude to be himself and do what he has to do. Jude informs Elize and Alvin responds that was nice of Milla who is very matter-of-fact about why. Elize turns to the village and waves to them with a smile on her face. They all turn their backs on her and give her nasty looks. At the seahaven, Jude asks about boats to Fennmont but Rashugal soldiers have blocked the capital and Fennmont from being reached. They can only move onto Sapstrath Seahaven and they decide to board the ship there.

Alvin has a carrier pigeon bring him a message and he sends one away. Jude makes a comment about nobody using those and Alvin says that he told them that he has a beautiful woman in his life and he was telling somebody about it. Jude mistakenly believes him to be married. Alvin says who knows. They question why Elize was in the village. Jude says that she may have been there to be protected. Elize is laughing as she talks to Teepo. Jude thinks about finding somebody to take her in. Milla considers how much time she has with the key that she has. She asks Elize what she plans on doing. Teepo says that he knows they are all pals. They make it to the seahaven and do not see any soldiers locking it down. Soldiers are still around. Milla says this is strange. Alvin suggests they found something more important. Jude tells Elize not to worry, that he will find somebody for her to stay with. Elize is upset. Milla thinks this was inconsiderate.

A man at the dock says that he has seen stuffed animals like Teepo before. The possibility is that there are more dolls like him and they think it might be Teepo's family. They see wanted posters for Milla and Jude and they comment on how awful they are. Milla says that the ugly poster is unfortunate because she meant for her form to entice men and that she will have to consider a different strategy. Alvin says this is diabolical. Milla asks for Jude's opinion. Alvin asks for her good features and makes Jude flustered. There is a woman Alvin notices at the hotel. There is tension there that he notices. Alvin walks off without a word. He confronts two men that have cornered the woman from the hotel. The woman's name is Katte. The woman expresses concern that 'they' will do to them. Jude claims Alvin has a weakness for pretty faces.

When Jude walks away with Katte, Alvin stands back and asks himself 'She couldn't be one of them, could she?'. In the morning, they find out that Katte left without a word. At the stairs at the dock, Katte is lying there dead. Jude wonders if it was the two men. Alvin says no then asks everybody to clear out so he can speak to Jude privately. He says that the woman may have been a part of the Rats. Alvin explains that they are a female spy organization working for the Aktau clan(apparently one of the shadier tribes in Auj Oule). They use women to gather intelligence for them and sneak around like rodents(hence the name). He says that the two men from the other day would not have gone so far as to kill the woman. He claims it was another Rat because Katte became a liability. Alvin thinks it might be his fault. He seems concerned about what happened.

There is a military checkpoint going towards Sharilton and Teepo points out an area known as the Deep Wood. Jude wonders if Elize will be okay and Milla says she can face it because she has to. Milla remarks on the density of the forest. Teepo points out a route into the forest. They get into a fight here and Jude gets hit. Elize says she can help and heals him up. Alvin remarks that she is quite young to have those kind of artes. Elize promises not to get into trouble anymore. Milla says that she is counting on her. They step on a plant trap that releases spores. They come across two monsters and Jiao who thanks the dogs for telling him of the intruders. He is surprised that Jude knows his name. He says that he came to take Elize back to the village. Teepo says to not let them take her back there. Jiao apologizes that Elize was treated poorly. Jude asks if he plans on taking her home or locking her upp. Jiao says it is not their business. The group defeats Jiao. He asks why Elize is staying with them and she says they are friends. Jude once again figures out a way out of the situation and alerts Alvin and Milla. Alvin shoots the tree and it falls on plants to release the spores.

They make it to Sharilton. Alvin takes notice of the soldiers there as they browse some antiques. Word is already there that military spies broke into Fennmont laboratories and the personal guards are there. Milla is seeing an ifreet fired antique to be fake. This is where they run into an elderly man and a young woman that wants the cup and the elderly man notes that it is indeed a fake. The young lady still purchases the cup(with a nice discount) and she thanks the group. She says her name is Driselle Sharil and the elderly man is Rowen. She invites them for tea at her manor. Milla questions if they have time for that. Alvin reminds her that it would be smart to not stay at the inn when there are guards around. Jude mentions this as well. Somebody notices Teepo and says a toy merchant was selling dolls like him at the seahaven(Aladhi Seahaven). They go to the seahaven to see them selling the toys, but they are just that: Toys with no personality. The man uses echore to make the dolls speak to the crowd. Elize is sad, but she is also glad that they cared.

Back in Sharilton, Jude notices the weather is nicer here than in Auj Oule. People wonder how it went going through the checkpoint. The people say that they used to be able to trade with Fort Gandala and Auj Oule freely. They said the regulations now make it imppossible. One man says he heard that Fort Gandala was creating a big time spirit arte. One questions if it is for war. Jude asks if it is between Rashugal and Auj Oule and why. They mention that the King of Rashugal has been building up power around himself while the King of Auj Oule is a hero that united all of the tribes of the land by force. These rulers would eventually get to the point where they would bump heads. They claims there have only ever been skirmishes and not open war since the Battle of Fezebel 20 years ago(note that this is also when Milla took human form). One man gets excited that this could be a business opportunity, but another reminds him that the greedy died first. They are getting new inspections on their businesses.

In Hamil, they check out the house that Elize had been trapped in. She said that Jiao told her to try and make friends to possibly live in that village one day. Alvin remarks how silly that is to expect a kid to live on their own and Milla notices the barrels of alcohol(porange/Moonlight). Teepo says to stay away, but Milla tries it anyways. She gets tipsy and falls down.

They meet up with Driselle and Rowen for tea at the manor. They notice Rashugal soldiers and Milla nearly pulls her weapon on them. Alvin stops her. They see a carriage pulling away with two men. They ask who they were, but get no answers. A young man named Cline is greeted by Driselle and she introduces the party to him(or rather she doesn't know their names and becomes slightly flustered). Cline is Driselle's brother and is the governer of Sharilton. He invites them inside for further conversation. Rowen comes in and whispers to Cline. He tells Rowen to handle the guests while he attends to matters. Alvin says he has to run to and says 'nature calls'. Driselle is excited to hear about their travels. Driselle says she and Elize are friends now. Milla has gifts explained to her.

Cline comes into the manor with soldiers and proclaims that he cannot allow them to leave because they were the ones that infiltrated Fennmont. Cline claims that Alvin is the one that told him about who they are. Instead of arresting them, he wants to know what he saw in there. Cline says that Rashugal has undergone dramatic changes ever since the ruler Nachtigal succeeded the throne. he says even those in the Six Ruling Houses are not aware of what he is up to. Milla tells him that people are being drained of their mana for a weapon. Cline is not pleased. This means that Nachtigal is the one behind this. Cline tells them to leave at once though he does not intend to arrest them. They leave in time to see Alvin get a carrier pigeon and send a message. He greets the group and they respond with irritation over him telling Cline who they are. Milla wants to know how much Cline aid him and Alvin responds that there are different kinds of currency and that is is not a secret that Cline is unhappy with the Rashugal government. He tells them it's called a trade when information is exchanged.

Milla says that with Nachtigal living, he could construct more Lances of Kresnik. She intends to assassinate King Nachtigal because she feels she has no other choice even if it throws the country into turmoil and Jude reluctantly agrees. A soldier recognizes them from the wanted poster. Rowen shows up and dispatches with the guards. He tells the group to follow him. Milla asks him what he wants. Rowen says that Nachtigal came to the manor earlier(the man in the carriage) to order all of the citizens of Sharilton into service. They question if this is to get more experimental subjects. Cline set off to rescue his people. Rowen wants to assist in his rescue. Jude agrees and Alvin makes a comment that Jude never learns his lesson. Milla agrees with this plan. The subjects were taken to a place called Bermia Gorge.

They get to Bermia Gorge and Rowen calls it one of the few liminal regions in all of Rashugal. Somebody aims a crossbow at the group and Jude saves Elize. They hide behind rocks. Alvin cannot fire a shot. Jude takes the chance to be the distraction. He steps out from behind the rock. An arrow is fired at his feet, Milla and Alvin stop the one that fires. They see a glowing coming from a cave nearby. They find the subjects being drained of their mana into an object on the ceiling. Milla comments that spyrix weapons should not be so easy to make. She pulls out the disc briefly before putting it away again. Rowen says that the channeling circle is used there is not a closed type and the rest of the spirit energy is flowing out of the top of the mountain. They need to enter from the top of the gorge. They must climb up there themselves. In order to get down through the top, Rowen cast a channeling circle himself to help them all ride down safely. Rowen asks Elize to wait for them, but she shakes her head and takes his hand. They float down on the channeling thing that looks like a plane. Jude helps Alvin aim for the core and they shoot it to shut it down.

Everybody is freed including Cline. He apologizes and says that Nachtigal's personal guard took him captive. A monster attacks them. Jude stops Milla from finishing off the monster. It is made out of lesser spirits that are freed. Milla thanks Jude for stopping her from destroying them. They return to Sharilton. Driselle greets them and Cline orders the people to have doctors look after the wounded. The group is thanked. Milla wants to get moving. Alvin mentions that Fort Gandala is their next destination. it is deduced that they intend to get through to Fennmont. Cline says he will send men to infiltrate ahead of them. Jude questions why Cline is helping them. He says House Sharil is not particularly loyal to Nachtigal. He issued a complaint for the troops to withdraw. Milla says they are on the brink of war. Alvin urges them to accept. Cline allows them to stay at the manor.

The group returns to Bermia Gorge to inspect where the channeling circle and the monster had been. The device does not work anymore and Jude makes the comparison that it is much like the devices seen at the Laforte Research Center. Milla says they must have been trying to create something using human mana and lesser spirits. She thinks the monster was not what it was meant to create, but a side effect of failure. Elize comments on the height they jumped and Rowen agreed. Alvin questions this with annoyance. In Sharilton, a man is looking at the windmills and marvels at the scale of the spirit artes that had to be used to keep the windmills there spinning. Jude explains that the windmills turn due to channeling spirits. The artes are cast to amplify the wind power. The man is studying spirit clime changes and how they are affected by spirit artes being used. He wants to compare the data from Sharilton and Bermia Gorge together for the different levels of variability. Rowen casts an arte in Bermia Gorge that summons lesser earth spirits to record changes in the surrounding spirit climes.

They return to Sharilton to give him what he needed. He says that the spirit clime of the gorge changed when the windmills went up. There is speculation that Fennmont's night-clime is connected to urbanization. It is a mere hypothesis. Rowen teaches Milla spirit artes at her request. She says that she never used techniques to control spirits so much as she did it be feel. They see Jude outside. Rowen suspects he is thinking about Elize. Milla makes a comment on how human Jude is. When Rowen goes to speak with Jude, Milla hangs back and considers to herself that a key was trying to be created but failed. She remarked that Jude wanted to help people and got hung up on things in a vicious cycle. Rowen mentions that Jude wants Driselle to take Elize in and Milla says that Jude takes his responsibilities seriously.

Rowen is setting off in the morning on horseback and will take less than a day to return. Driselle wants to take Elize and Milla shopping with her. Milla is dragged off. Cline says he can no longer obey the king because he uses his own people. he wants to stand against all tyrants to protect peace. Alvin asks if he plans on rebeling. He says he is certain Nachtigal has brought together more power for an invasion on Auj Oule. he is willing to sacrifice his own peole for ambition after all. Countless lives on both sides will be lost. Cline must protect the peole because he is a governor. He asks for Jude's aid. he says it is in everybody's best interest to dispose of Nachtigal. Cline is shot with a crossbow and Alvin kills them. Rowen asks for Jude to heal Cline. Driselle and them are still shopping and Milla shows them a glass bead that a human child gave to her. It is turned into a pendent for her. Soldiers invade Sharilton. Driselle demands that the Rashugal soldiers leave at once. A man approaches them and claims that the king has given him orders to wipe out any enemies and rebellious elements.

They are to come quietly or else. House Sharil is said to be conspiring against the throne. Milla and Elize take on guards sent to capture them. They are both hit with some sort of energy and knocked out. They are all arrested.

Driselle wakes up Milla inside of a prison cell in Fort Gandala. A man that had been with Zachtigal earlier introduces himself as Gilland, the deputy chief of the Rashugal military(fancy). Milla is not impressed. Gilland asks them if they stole the key. Milla plays dumb. Gilland laughs. Guards come in and threaten for them to step out of the cell. Gilland interrogates Milla. He kills a prisoner by forcing her to step past a force field. The device on their ankle with explode and kill them if they move past that(hex zone). Driselle shouts that Gilland will not get away with this because it is a violation of the Sapstrath Convention. Gilland is amused. He continues to interrogate Milla. She tells him that she does not care if she and her friends are killed and that it will show him how serious she is.

The guards are left to interrogate Milla, but she gets the upper hand on the guard holding her. She orders weapons to be dropped. It appears to work as they are back in the cell and Milla gives them instructions. Since Driselle cannot fight, she asks Elize to watch after her. Elize says she cannot fight without Teepo. Milla does not seem happy. Driselle says she can look after herself. They cannot remove the shackles without a key. Milla fights their way out on her own. They get the key to the control room. Milla fights off more guards. Driselle finds a key on that guard and gives it to Milla. They enter a room and see that Gilland and a man in a HAZMAT suit are testing out the device in the room with a person in a tube. They are recording the amount of rayles from the mana discharge(rayles is likely a measure much like what electricity would give off). Teepo is apparently part of this experiment as he is in front of the man with the suit.

Milla breaks through the glass. Gilland is shocked. Elize is too scared to jump and Milla convinces her to because Teepo is down there. Milla catches her. Nachtigal suddenly appears in the room and says how pathetic the scene is in front of him. He is happy that the data was collected and he praises Gilland. Nachtigal is unimpressed with Milla. Jude, Alvin, and Rowen show up(they have been infiltrating the building to get to them the entire time this is happening). Gilland and Alvin trade looks. Nachtigal declares that the Lance of Kresnik will bring Auj Oule to its knees. Jude jumps down and asks if that is the reason they invaded Sharilton. Nachtigal orders him silenced and that it is no matter for a child. Nachtigal throws a blade at Milla and Rowen knocks it away. Nachtigal refers to Rowen as Ilbert and asks if it is really him. The guard knows who he is and Jude is surprised, asking if he is the one from the history books referred to as Ilbert the Conductor.

Gilland asks what business like him somebody should have here when they cast aside their army and kingdom. Rowen addresses Driselle only. Nachtigal says that Rowen's job as a servant suits him. Gilland says they should just leave now. Milla tries to go after them. Gilland tells Nachtigal that he does not like this as mana-boosting technology would be a problem if Auj Oule got their hands on it. Nachtigal does not see the problem because it would be the same tech all around. He wants the data immediately sent to Fennmont. Gilland asks if the king wants to use it on the subjects of the Lance of Kresnik. The king wants this. Milla follows them and creates a fireball. Nachtigal blocks this. Milla questions why Nachtigal wants to use spyrix tech and sacrifice his own people for power he does not need. He states that it is what he is meant to do: Rule the world as it is his destiny. To fulfill this, he needs power. he says all kings need sacrifices and it is a worthy sacrifice. Milal says there is a flaw because trickery will have him achieve nothing in the end. The king laughs.

Milla moves through the barrier and the device on her ankle explodes. She does not die, but she sails through and manages to knock the king down. He says it is impossible, but Milla is still hit after he says this. Milla still flies out of the explosion to try and hit the king, saying he has no right to speak of duty. Once again there is an explosion. Nachtigal is in awe. He and Gilland leave as Jude cries out for Milla who is severely injured. Alvin says he wished he knew why this happened. They escape on a carriage. Milla wakes up on a bed and Driselle comes inside. They are in the manor in Sharilton. She is happy to see her awake. A doctor comes in to check on her. Milla asks if everybody is okay. They tell her to regain her strength. Milla realizes she cannot move her legs. Time passes. Jude finds that Milla has fallen trying to get up. He helps her back on the bed. Milla wants to continue to Fennmont. Jude tells her that the mission is over. He tells to accept reality. Milla argues that strength is not just physical. Real strength is more than that for her. This is who she is.

Jude lies on a couch and cannot rest. Milla is lying in bed and overhears that Cline is dead. Jude comes into the room to say that his father healed a patient who had lost the use of their legs. He suggests to visit Leronde, his hometown. She questions why things changed. ude says that he does not know what changed, but he knows he cannot stop her. She says she is in his hands. They head for Sapstrath Seahaven. Driselle and Rowen see Jude and Milla off. Elize asks if they are really leaving. Jude looks around, seeming lost in thought. Teepo says pals should stick together. Alvin, in the shadows, seems resigned to the fact that those two insist on continuing on. Jude and Milla are going across a field when it begins to rain. They call it a day and stay in a cave. Milla believes Jude to be a good cook. She mentions how she cannot do anything anymore. Jude says he will do all of that for her from now on. Milla asks Jude to sit closer and he does. She thanks him and gives him the glass bead pendent. he thanks her.

In the morning, they are off again. Jude says they will reach the seahaven soon. They see a monster digging in a hole. it bounces back and knocks Milla off her horse. Jude kills the beast. He asks if Milla is okay then picks her up to carry her the rest of the way. Ivar catches up to Milla at the seahaven. He saw them on the posters. Milla is not impressed that he left the village unprotected. She tries to get up and falls. Ivar notices her legs are injured. Jude shows up and Ivar blames him for what happened. Milla takes the blame as Ivar belittles Jude over what his own job is. Jude says his father may be able to save her legs. Ivar says he will be the one to take her. Jude says he can come too, but he will definitely be going. Ivar intends to fight Jude over this and they fight. Jude beats Ivar, Milla has meanwhile begun to drag herself across the ground. She does not have time for their fighting. They both go over to assist her back to the bench. Milla gives Ivar the key(disc) and tells him to return to Nia Khera with it. Ivar protests, but Milla insists that he go or else. Begrudgingly he does so. As they are beginning to leave, a girl and some children are playing with a wheelchair. They speed by and the girl in the wheelchair lands in the ocean. Meanwhile Jude is making a face.

The girl gets out of the water and apologizes. Jude calls her Leia and says they are home now. Leia is very happy to see him. She horribly tries to explain the race. Jude says that she just had to be the winner, huh? He says Leia is an old friend of his. He introduces her to Milla. Leia asks what is wrong with her legs. Leia makes the kids get up to go get the doctor, so that Milla can use the wheelchair. They take her to the clinic where people greet Jude. A woman tells the other patients waiting to go as Milla is an urgent case. Leia provlaims herself the best(and only) nurse in town after a patient tells her she really got into the swing of things. Doctor Mathis comes to help Milla. he says yes he is Jude's father. He has Ellen, the woman from earlier, leave the room. He says he needs to run tests. Milla asks if Ellen is Jude's mother and Doctor Mathis says yes. he questions her relationship with his son and she says she gave Jude a pendent and they are friends. Doctor Mathis asks her to pardon his skepticism as Milla is much older than Jude. Milla asks him to give her the same treatment as the woman he healed. He says he will see what the tests say first and that she must remain in the clinic.

Ellen comes to see how Milla is feeling. Milla asks about her legs and Ellen says she should speak with the doctor about that. Ellen also questions Milla's relationship with Jude. Milla laughs because they both asked her about that. She says that Jude rescued her from a tough spot in Fennmont and says that his actions meant Jude could not return to the ciy. They have been traveling together ever since. Ellen says that sounds like Jude because he has always been too quick to help others. Ellen says Jude was bullied for this when he was younger, but he never stopped. She said that he would come home with bruises, but still be smiling no matter what. Doctor Mathis comes in and tells Ellen to get back out because it is getting busy. He tells Ellen to stop spoiling Jude because he is a man now. He mentions that for the first time that Jude stood up to him and ordered him to use an aspyrixis on Milla. She asks if that will help her walk again. Doctor Mathis says that she might be a good influence on Jude since being with her has made him bolder. He says as a father he is pleased, but as a doctor he cannot use that treatment no matter what. He apologizes and Milla says she will find another way. Doctor Mathis is glad that she understand and he turns to the door. He says that the procedure is simple, but that mobility is not gained right away.

He explains that he would be applying spirit artes directly to Milla's nerve system and it would be excrutiating, leaving her unable to move. He says best case scenario would be taking several months before nerves would react to allow her to move again. Milla asks why she is being told this. Doctor Mathis says that they cannot get the spirit fossils needed to run the device and that, even if they could, the mana escapes them as soon as they are uncovered. he says this is a shame because the aspyrixis may have cured her. Jude and Leia come into the room with a briefcase. It has the aspyrixis inside and Jude plans on using it on Milla without his father knowing. He asks Leia to give him a hand despite Milla saying that she was told it would not work. Leia helps her lie down on her side. Jude applies the aspyrixis and nothing happens. Milla says that she was told by his father that it needs a spirit stone and there is no mana in the one in the device. Jude asks if those exist. Leia mentions that it said that one was needed in the file they looked at and Milla mentions the need to immediately use one or it will not work. Jude expresses irritation that it is complicated, but Leia mentions that she heard about them being in the Felgana Mine from her father. Jude is excited. Leia brings around the wheelchair. Leia says she needs to get things ready and to meet her at the edge of town.

The mine has been closed for a while. They arrive at the mine and Leia explains that she heard the fossils are a particular color and they make a certain sound. It looks like the miners quit in the middle of their work. Leia thinks there was an accident. She says not to chicken out. She is excited for an adventure. Jude says to be careful. Leia says to worry more about Milla than her. Jude finds a way deeper into the mine. They see very tiny spirit fossils that lead them further in. Leia says she will not let Jude go in alone and beat her. Milla agrees they should go in together. Leia is visibly tired and Jude says she should go back. She changes the subject to the spirit fossils. Milla explains that when a spirit loses mana that it manifests to the world as a stone. Leia asks if that means a lot of spirits died and Milla says many died before she was born. Jude interrupts to get moving and Leia makes a face. Jude hears a sound(ringing). It is the sound of a spirit fossil. They find more fragments. They question how a fossil moved. Jude says to kee an eye on Milla. Leia tells Jude the same before going first without waiting. Jude and Milla follow. Milla senses a problem. Leia is knocked off her feet by a monster coming up from under the ground.

They notice the spirit fossil on the monster's head. Leia says she will get it for him. They both fight the monster and appear to kill it. The fossil falls away and they get it, but the monster revives. The fossil falls close to Milla as the two are knocked down. She uts the fossil into the aspyrixis on her leg. There is obvious pain in doing this. She is able to move and comes at the beast. All three fight it together to finally best the creature. Jude expresses happiness at Milla being able to move. Milla collapses and expresses what a device humans have created. She says the pain is considerable. She thanks Leia for getting the stone. Milla tells Leia to talk to her. Leia says that she was surprised that ude wanted to use the aspyrixis knowing how much pain it would cause. The old Jude would not have done so. Leia tells Milla about how Jude used to be: He was alone usually. Leia believes he was lonely. He is eager to be involved. Milla speculates it is because he wants to be included. Jude is not the same as he was back then. Milla passes out and Jude checks on her.

Leia says she does not mind pushing the chair back. Jude finds this to be unexpected. They get back to Leronde where Ellen runs out to embrace Jude. He apologizes for not telling them where he went. Doctor Mathis comes out and slaps Jude, saying that the girls could have been injured and if he did not think about his actions. Jude says he tried unlike what his father did. Doctor Mathis gets angry and reaches back to hit him again, but Milla steps in his way. She says he did well doing what he must. Doctor Mathis is surprised to see her on her feet. Jude's father tells Leia to take Milla to the clinic. His parents walk away. Jude is silent. Three weeks later, Leia and Jude are sitting and waiting for Milla to come out of the clinic. His father steps out to talk to Jude, demanding he explain a wanted poster. He says it sounds like they stole something. Jude assumes it is the key that Milla gave to Ivar. Jude asks if his father plans on yelling at Milla for corrupting him. Jude's father says he is naive to what Milla is. Milla appears, but she collapses. Jude goes to help. His father stops him and she stands on her own.

Milla wants to go on a walk. Leia agrees. Doctor Mathis points out that Milla never stops moving under her own power. Jude and Leia walk Milla towards the seahaven. Doctor Mathis sees a carrier pigeon. He does not like the note he gets and asks why now. At the seahaven, Leia asks about the wanted poster. Jude tells her about wanting to destroy the Rashugal secret weapon. He says it uses a spyrix and destroying it will save the world. Elize and Rowen shows up to congradulate Milla on her recovery. They introduce themselves to Leia. Rowen asks about the aspyrixis. He says Driselle told Rowen to take a vacation and Elize wanted to come to Leronde. Rowen says he has been distracted lately. Jude states their intention to leave tomorrow. Milla is surprised and asks what they want in Fennmont. Milla tells them about the Lance of Kresnik needing to be destroyed. It threatens people and spirits. Elize asks who built it. Nachtigal did. Rowen says they cannot go to Fennmont without going through Fort Gandala. He asks if they are afraid. Milla does not fear this. She is Maxwell and it is her duty. Rowen, Elize, and Leia are surprised to find out that she is a spirit. Jude says that will not change anything. They all go back inside.

Doctor Mathis is watching Milla sleep and is greeted by Alvin who was the one who sent the message via carrier pigeon. He asks if he got Milla to spill where the key is after making sure Milla would not wake up with them talking. Doctor Mathis says that he is no longer a part of Exodus. That it is not his job. Alvin makes a snide comment. Doctor Mathis says that he owes Milla and Alvin asks if it is because she turned Jude into a man. It upsets him. Alvin pushes him to tell him the information he needs to know. He says he is just the messenger. Doctor Mathis says it is possible she gave the key to a man named Ivar. He tells Alvin to never bother him again. Alvin obliges. Jude's father wonders if he did the right thing. Milla opens her eyes. She heard the whole thing.

In the morning, Jude says goodbye to his mother Ellen. He asks about his father is still fuming. Milla wants to set off. She says she wants to bid Elize and Rowen goodbye for coming to see them. Jude agrees. They go see them at the hotel. Milla falls over momentarily then apologizes. Rowen shows concern. He asks if this is a good idea. Of course Milla remains true to what she must do. Rowen is impressed. He says that Lord Cline tasked him to save the country, that his dying words weigh heavily on his mind. He questions himself. Jude mentions that it appeared that Nachtigal knew Rowen. Rowen says that he is one of his oldest friends. Milla says that is the source of his concern, wether he will be able to fight against his friend or not. She asks if he will come with them for now. Jude agrees. Rowen is happy to do so. Elize says she will come too. Jude tells her to go home to Driselle. Rowen leans down to tell her that she needs to bring a message to Driselle that Rowen has gone to Fennmont. Elize protests. Rowen says he will get an acquaintence in Sapstrath Seahaven to take her back. Jude points out that Elize is going back to Sharilton, so they are heading in the same direction.

Rowen has an idea. Jude says to stick together until the ship. Milla looks at the books in clinic library. She sees some embarrassing information for Jude. They go to the hotel and Jude asks Master Sonia if Leia is around. She says she does not know where she is(that she hasn't even done her chores). She tells her to tell Leia they are leaving on another journey. The man says she will get depressed. The man and Master Sonia bicker about Leia. The group goes to the seahaven and Milla notes that Leia is not around to say thank you to. Jude notices the ship is bound for Auj Oule and asks if that is the plan. Rowen says yes. Ellen comes to the seahaven, asking if Jude will really not make amends with his father. Jude says no. Rowen and Jude ask if Ellen will watch after Elize for a few days until somebody comes to pick her up.

Jude's father suddenly arrives. Jude states his resolve to go with Milla. His father forbids this then Alvin comes out of nowhere like usual. Jude is surprised. Milla quietly is not surprised. Alvin says his last job did not pan out, so he will be stuck with them. Jude's father asks if he knows Alvin. Jude says they are old traveling buddies. Teepo tells Alvin how mean the others are for not wanting to take Elize along and Alvin says that she can fight just as well as anybody else can. He says it will be just like old times(:| yeah okay). Rowen protests, but Teepo attacks his face. The last call for the boat comes. Jude's father calls out to him about responsibility for actions as an adult. Milla says he is doing the right thing. He says to take care of his son.

Alvin notices that the boat is bound for Lakutam Seahaven and asks why since they want to go to Fennmont. Alvin does not mind. He just says that he is there to look after Elize. Milla asks Rowen to tell them the plan. Rowen says that forcing their way through Fort Gandala would be suicide. he said there were security golems being activated as they escaped previously. Elize says that golems are weapons made by humans using earth spirits specifically. Rowen says that it would take an entire set of soldiers to take on these golems(or automata) with a really good strategy. Jude points out that sea routes to Fennmont are closed. Milla finishes that they mean to cross Auj Oule into Fennmont by land instead. Alvin asks what they will do about Fezebel Marsh, a swanp that stretches north of Fennmont. It is supposed to be as fortified as Fort Gandala. Alvin points out that it is supposed to be impossible to cross because of the severe spirit-clime.

Rowen agrees, but he says the interseasonal winds have blown and Solum has begun. This means that it has shifted from Efreeta to Ragnome(making is passable). Milla and the others do not understand, but accept this explanation. Alvin sums it up. Rowen says they have little time because the golems in Fort Gandala have remained active since the group left Sharilton. Rashugal is preparing for open war. Jude asks if it will be with Auj Oule. Milla once again says she must destroy the Lance of Kresnik before it can be used. A sailor finds a person in a barrel. It is Leia and she has fallen asleep. Jude is angry that Leia came along. Leia turns to Alvin and asks who he is. Teepo introduces him. Leia shakes his hand(little buddy she calls him c:). She asks Milla if she can come along. Milla ponders why. Leia says Milla's strength inspired her, so she wants to be like her. Leia hands Milla a sheet of paper with a list of reasons when Milla is still skeptical. Milla agrees and says she likes her. Leia greets all of them happily.

Alvin makes the comment that they are close to Nia Khera and suggests that maybe Milla should stop by there. Milla asks why because she has no business there. Alvin says no reason aside from the villagers maybe wanting to worship her. She appreciates his concern, but no time for detours. Rowen says if they follow Lakutam Highroad then they will reach the city of Xian Du. He says they should head there. Alvin asks about the monster that is on the highroad known as the Lord of Lakutam. Rowen says he is very well-informed, but the spirit-clime will affect it just like every other monster. Ragnome apparently makes it very timid in a good way. They get moving. Milla seems uncertain of something. Leia asks about Jude's pendent. The group explains what it is and Milla said she gave it to Jude. Leia repeats this to herself. Alvin makes a comment on how much he could sell it for.

Rowen asks to hear the story behind it. Milla says that it was 14 years ago when she left Nia Khera for a day. She said she played with children for a day and it was the last time she ever did that. The children beat her at every game. She did not use the spirits to win because they were on a mission. They gave her the bead and said they wanted to play with her again. Milla says she knew she wanted to protect humans when they gave her that and she was never closer to humans than she was that day. They come across wanted posters of Jude and Milla. Rowen says the wanted posters are rendered not by the physical but of the deepest essence into physical form. Spirits artes are used. Alvin says that Milla's poster is accurate due to showing her callousness. Leia comments that Jude's is accurate due to his sudden decisive side. Rowen considers to himself how this was a complete joke and how he should explain to them about that.

The group comes across two girls that are arguing. One is saying that the other cannot see their boyfriend anymore and the other gets upset by this. The first girl wonders why the other will not listen to her. The second girl pushes through the group. The first apologizes and laments their parents not being alive. They talk to the girl. She says the boyfriend has issues. Milla wonders if that is her problem or her sister's more. The girl says she does not want her to make a mistake. She apologizes and says she needs to look for her. Milla notices that the second girl is hiding when the first one goes to looks for her. She is a little hostile to the group. Milla asks why she cannot just go off on her own. The girl says she cannot because her sister has been sick and weak for a while, not to mention she is her sister. She sees her sister coming and runs off. Leia asks if Milla has a family. She says no, but the Four could be considered that. Jude asks if she wants a family. She says that she never thought about it before. She notices the sisters talking and wonders to herself how that would be. She dismisses it as silly.

At the manor, Jude asks if a certain building is where Cline's assassin was and Alvin confirms this. Rowen feels responsible for what happened. Jude disagrees and Milla agrees. She says it is nobody's fault. Rowen says it unfortunately is and asks if they remember the arrow that hit Cline. Jude remembers it being unusual. Rowen says it is a lethal design used by the personal guard of Nachtigal. It came from Rashugal's military tactician. Rowen confirms that was him. He was known as the Conductor then. Alvin says that Rowen paid the price. Jude protests, but Rowen agrees with Alvin. His work did nothing but kill instead of protect the one he meant to. Jude says Cline did not feel that way if he wanted him to look after the country. Rowen thanks them.

The group returns to Leronde to the hotel and Leia calls out softly that she is home. She continues looking around and says she is glad nobody is here. Milla questions why. Sonia, her mother appears, with an angry retort. Milla asks her how she appeared out of nowhere. Sonia asks if Leia realizes how worried they have been(her father bawling). Leia apologizes. She chastizes Milla and Jude when they says Leia was just trying to help. Jude apologizes and Milla looks apologetic and says so. Rowen goes to apologize, but Sonia interrupts him to say she is doubly disappointed in him. She decides to lecture all of them after putting them in a line. She dismisses them later. Leia says it is a miracle it was this light of a punishment. Milla sks if this means she cannot comes along. Leia intends to come with them no matter what. Leia's mother said she better or she would be in trouble for giving up. She said she only scolded because she left without saying anything. She should see it through to the end.

Jude and Alvin go see Doctor Mathis. He notices that Jude is okay. Alvin says it is because he is there with Jude. Jude's father asks Jude to leave the room to speak with Alvin alone. Alvin mentions that Jude's father would be in trouble for not telling his son what's up and Doctor Mathis says he is one to talk. Alvin makes a comment that it is not like Jude is being held hostage. Doctor Mathis thinks that is exactly what it is. Alvin says he is protecting Jude from Exodus because they trust each other and all(Alvin...please :|). he says that his son may be a lot more grown up than his father already realizes. Doctor Mathis still believes that Jude is going through a rebellious phase. Alvin asks if that is not the phaze that leads to adulthood. He says that it must be tough being a dad that has to sacrifice so much for family and have the son grow up to leave him. Doctor Mathis says this is how it is. Alvin says Dr. Mathis has always been like this.

Continuing on, they notice a carrier pigeon and Jude asks if Alvin is expecting a letter. Milla says huh and Jude whispers that it is to a woman apparently. Alvin announces that they should relax while he takes care of that. Meanwhile Jude asks Milla what it was that she gave to Ivar and if it was the item from the lab. She confirms this, stating that it is a spyrix used to operate the Lance of Kresnik. Jude asks if it is safe somewhere else(like with her). She says it would be dangerous to have the spyrix in hand when near the Lance. She says she believes the channeling circle that captured the Four came from the spyrix. She has to create a circle herself of equal strength to free them. She needs the spyrix to release them. She does not know when she should retrieve the key from Ivar. Jude asks if that means that spyrix can be used to cast artes as well. Milla explains by using an example of the lamps in Fennmont being lit with spirit artes(so easily a child could do it). If more powerful artes are rquired then somebody with a mana lobe of sufficient capacity would be needed. Greater capacity=more mana produced. That is determined at birth. That is a law of Rieze Maxia.

A spyrix does not rely on a caster(they can power anything they want with one). Capacity is no longer a limitation. Jude mentions that it is handy and Milla agrees. The problem is that it is too dangerous because anybody could wield magic to do things like capture the Four or kill as is intended with the Lance. Alvin is done and Milla says they should go now. Ivar shows up out of nowhere. He is happy to see her walking again. Jude asks why he is there. Leia wants to know who this is. He is, of course, Milla's handmaid. Ivar is trying to get Milla to come back to the village. He is worried for her. She will not return. He wants to come along. Leia greets him, but he is having an inner tantrum. He thinks that Jude is taking credit for something that Milla is able to do with her power. Rowen makes a comment about eccentric company. Milla is not happy about Ivar being there. He reassures her that the item is safe and cannot be found. He shows her something he received: A note that says Ivar should come to Milla's aid at once. She is suspicious of the note(I think she believes it to be Alvin's doing...which it probably was).

A monster runs down Ivar. A battle ensues. Alvin comments sarcastically that the monster should have been timid given the climes Rowen mentioned earlier. Without the Four, the spirit climes are not functioning. Jude ponders how they will cross Fezebel Marsh to Fennmont. Ivar chastizes them for this. He mentions only a wyvern can make it right now and that only he can be of assistance to Milla. He has a wyvern. Milla asks if there is another way. She demands an answer. A clan in Xian Du controls monsters. She thanks Ivar, but he is not happy. The group continues on. He has a tantrum. A carrier pigeon arrives before him. It had delivered the message earlier. It delivers another message to him after he throws something at it. The note says that Milla will need the key to save the Four. He will become her champion and beat Jude. He has to wait for another message before he does it.

The group makes it to Xian Du. Rowen says that clans have been warring back and forth since ancient times, so people build cities wherever they can(even here). Milla asks if there is a festival going on. Leia points out a statue. Alvin explains what the statues represents as he has read. Alvin tells Leia that she needs to watch out for falling rocks. Alvin has been through the area apparently when Milla questions his knowledge. Elize says that she thinks she has been through the city on the way to Hamil. Rowen asks if she has lived in the city before. She does not know. Leia asks where Alvin is going and he says he has business. Jude asks Milla if that is okay. She says he will be back. She says they should go look for the wyverns. Rocks fall. Milla saves Elize and Rowen saves Leia though they both are struck by the rocks. Leia apologizes. A woman named Isla shows up to help heal them. They tell Leia to sit down for a while. Milla notices somebody. They thank Isla. She asks what they are doing there. They mention wyverns. Isla tells them to head across the river to see the wyverns.

Jude and Elize run into a woman in front of a statue. They ask if she dropped something. She was researching the statue(Master Heming). She is a historian named Karla Outway. She teaches young children. She gives Elize a pop quiz. The arena in Xian Du is where different tribes compete. She asks who has the record of the youngest champion ever. It is Master Heming. The group gets to the wyverns. A group walks up and says those wyverns belong to them. Milla states they are going to take them and she is considering how to break the cages. Leia is surprised at her just saying that. Jude asks to borrow them. The tribe refuses then the female member says amongst themselves that they are running out of time to find a champion. They are surprised when the wyvern in the game submits to Milla without beastcraft. They think the group is the answer. The girl in the group is not amused. The man calls himself Yurgen of the Kitarl Clan. They point out the crowds in Xian Du.

Once every decade there is a martial-arts tournament. Their chief is not available as he is in service to the king. They may have to forfeit. He senses a special power in them. He wants them to represent the Kitarl Clan. Leia immediately asks where she can sign up. He wants them to win, so he wants to see a demonstration of their abilities. Milla confirms that the wyverns will be given to them in trade. Leia is excited. Jude asks if it is okay for outsiders to be in the tournant. Another member of the Kitarl Clan mentions that other clans do it all the time. A wild Alvin appears. He makes a comment about their current objective. Teepo questions where he has been. Alvin non-chalantly says 'no harm, no foul'. Yurgen asks if Alvin is a friend of theirs.

They run into a woman in the city. She wonders if they have all seen the world. Alvin says he has. She asks what they think of the extreme spirit-climes in the world. Jude says they are common. She introduces herself as a geographer. Her hypothesis is that Fennmont's night-clime, Lakutam's sunset-clime, Kijara's water-clime, and Bermia's wind-clime have developed extremes due to an unknown power on what once was a single spirit clime. Rowen is intrigued. Milla is quiet. At the arena, the group goes up against some monsters to show their abilities. Leia likes the look of the arena. Jude asks her if her old wounds are acting up again. She is taken aback. She makes a hesitant no. She says it will have to heal whether it likes it or not. Yurgen starts the test. Yurgen underestimated them. He says they used to be fought to the death, but no longer.The king of Auj Oule outlawed that. They have rooms at the inn, so they go back there.

In the morning, Yurgen meets them. He says that all the fights will be in one day. The bell tolling means they will need to go to the arena immediately. Alvin says they have time to kill. Milla wants to go to the plaza. Leia and Alvin want to go along. Jude, Elize, and Rowen split off from them. Milla is looking around and Alvin asks if she had planned on examining the debris. She says it is not important. Leia waves to Isla when she sees her coming their way. Isla says Leia is healed nicely. Isla notices Alvin and Leia notices this. Leia asks if Isla knows Alvin. She says no, but Alvin says it is okay. Isla is taking care of Alvin's mother. Milla asks if she is in town. Leia assumes this is the reason why Alvin knows so much about the local area. Alvin says his mother is in poor health, his father is gone, and he has no siblings. Isla looks after her while he is away. Milla says this is as much as she has heard about him in one minute than he has told him since they met. He says he just wants to make her better, so thee both of them can go home. leia asks if that home is far from here.

(It should be noted that during this time Jude and the other two run into Isla who seems to recognize Elize, but hastily leave without another word on Jude's playthrough.)

Alvin looks into the sky, saying it is further than she can imagine. Milla tells him to not hesitate to ask for help from them. Alvin hesitantly confirms this with a surprised look. Yurgen shows up and Isla asks why he is not at the arena yet. Leia says they did not know they knew each other. Yurgen and Isla are engaged. Leia congratulates them. Milla realizes what marriage means and say something that makes Leia and Alvin step back in shock. The bell sounds. Isla apologizes that she has work and cannot make it to the arena. At the arena, the group is reunited once more. Leia tells Jude that Yurgen and Isla are engaged and he asks when the day will be. Yurgen says not for a while. Leia also mentions that Isla is looking after Alvin's mother. Jude asks what is wrong, but Alvin dismisses his worries. Milla asks about Elize. Jude mentions that Elize appears to have remembered something about her parents. No clues though.

The group enters the arena to start their battles. Jude marvels at the amount of people. They are the only ones not controlling monsters. They fight a few rounds of monsters. They make it to the finals. They talk about the arena matches. They are invited to come eat. Jude notices Milla hanging back. At the table waiting for food, Alvin notices Jude scoping people out. Alvin teases him about seeing a cute warrior. Jude gets uppity. Yurgen tells them to eat up. A man appears and says that the falling rocks was not an accident. Milla yells to not touch the food. Alvin nearly has the spoon to his mouth, but stops. Crisis averted. Everybody around them collapses after eating the food. There is a faint odor of metecinia that has been used to poison everybody. Milla says only one group would use cowardly means. This is Alvin's cue to high tail it out the door. Jude asks Milla if she knows something. Later Milla says that Exodus is behind what happened. Jude asks who Exodus is. Milla explains they are an organization that tries to assassinate her every now and then(you know...no big deal :|).

The poison was meant for Milla. Rowen seems awed that they would kill people in the room just to get to her. She says they are usually more subtle than this(and not...you know...terrible). Leia wants to know why they are after her. They are after her because Milla has been destroying their spyrixes. Exodus appeared 20 years ago with the spyrixes. Jude asks if that means the Lance is from Exodus. Milla believes so, but she cannot prove this to be true. She says the members are hard to pick out because they blend in to the people around them. She can only find them when they use spyrix. She senses the spirits dying. Everytime a spyrix generates artes, spirits are driven to their deaths. Since humans and spirits have a reciprocal relationship(people need spirits to live/spirits live off mana produced by mana lobes), it throws this balance off. Rowen feels like a fool for never knowing this. Milla has not been exposing this because she wants humans to remain unaware.

Because she lost the Four, she has dragged humans into the matter. She apologizes. Yurgen comes into the room. Leia asks if everybody is okay. Yurgen says that their group are the only meals survivors. Finals have been postponed for a couple of days. It was not canceled due to the tournament being every decade. Jude is flabberghasted. Yurgen asks if Alvin is back then tells him to pass along the news. Leia wonders if they should forfeit. Rowen suggests resting first. They sleep on it. Milla is down in the lobby by herself. She tells herself that she cannot let him carry on any longer(he being the elusive Alvin) and that his mother is in town. She runs into Alvin in front of a house. She asks if this is his house. He says it is his mother's. He apologizes for running off and that he was just about to head to the inn.

Milla pushes Alvin against the wall threateningly to demand answers about Exodus. He plays dumb, but Milla does not buy that crap. She says she heard him talking to Derrick(Jude's father) in Leronde. Alvin is impressed. Milla demands to know if he is part of Exodus. He claims he hates them as much as they all do. They are blackmailing him to work for them. He says he is stuck. Milla's face changes to concern as she questions if this is about his mother. He asks if Milla believes him after she lets him go. She says, like Teepo, she believes him to be a big fat liar. He confirms this by proudly saying nobody can question him because nobody can trust what he says. Milla sighs and starts off. Alvin asks where she is going. She says to look for the Exodus agents. He asks if he can tag along. She says to do whatever he wants(sounding very displeased).

Jude and the rest of them run into Milla and Alvin on the bridge. Jude is mad that Milla and Alvin ran off without mentioning where they went. Alvin points out that Elize wants to say something. They all turn to Elize. She thinks Isla might know something about her. Milla wonders why. Jude says Isla saw them and went pale as a ghost. Leia confirms that they will not let Isla run off when they see her next time. The bell tolls in the arena. They all agree to go on towards the arena. Jude wonders some people there knew they were fighters. Outsiders are generally fighters in the arena or spectators. Elize wants to know why Jude asked those eople how they knew what the group is there for. Jude says something clicked for him. They go to the arena.

Yurgen greets them at the arena saying that the finals are to go on now. The committee has decided to revert the late king's ruling, so it will be a fight to the death. They will also be one-on-one. Milla says they still need to wyverns, so no forfeiting. It is still strange though. Rowen questions why this happened. Alvin says this is a plot by Exodus. Jude and Elize ask why he would know that. Alvin goes to say his secret, but hesitates. Milla tells them that Alvin works for Exodus. Leia is shocked. Alvin is doing odd jobs for Exodus. Jude wonders if the poison was his doing, but Alvin shuts that down fast. He almost was poisoned too. He says he has no idea who it was. Jude tells him to please never work for Exodus again. Alvin says he will not of course(Alvin....PLEASE :|). Rowen asks if he was privy to Exodus' plans. Alvin says that he heard things. He mentions that they hoped to change the rules to kill Milla. Even winning there is a backup plan. Snipers are in the cheap seats.

Yurgen is upset. Milla says that it will all collapse if somebody else fights for her. She will still take their bait to draw them out. Alvin questions why. Rowen does not agree. None of them do. Jude realizes that Milla wants the rest of them to take out the Exodus members in the stands. Knowing the time and place they will strike makes this a logical plan. If not attacking now then they may miss out. Yurgen questions if they still plan on fighting. Milla says yes because it will also keep the pride of their clan. Yurgen is happy with this. They all go to the arena where Milla enters the arena to fight. While the announcer is talking about the rule changes, Elize spots Isla who looks surprised to see her. Isla begins to walk away. The person against Milla in the arena has a spyrix weapon. Elize runs into a man and a woman in the stands. They grab Teepo away from her and she runs after them. Leia yells to Milla that somebody took Teepo and Elize followed after.

Milla is being shot at by more people. Leia wonders what happened to just one-on-one. She looks to Alvin. They run off. Milla calls to Alvin and he says Teepo must have been the target the whole time. There were no snipers in the stands. He says he did not know. Milla tells Alvin to go save her. Alvins wonders to her if she is testing his loyalty. Milla says she is counting on him. Alvin says do not blame him if it goes south and he runs off. Leia, Jude, and Rowen join Milla in the fight below against the spyrixes. The announcer announces a victory for the Kitarl Clan. Milla spots a strange cube and stomps it out. It was likely a spyrix. Later Milla asks Yurgen if knows where Elize and Alvin went. Leia wants to go after them now, but Yurgen says to let the locals handle this. Milla accepts this.

They are waiting in their hotel room. Rowen believes this to be taking too long. Jude wonders if Alvin turned on them. Milla is silently unsure. Leia blames herself for not keeping Elize in her seat. Jude says it is not her fault. Yurgen found the trail to the Royal Hunting Grounds. It is a dangerous place that the Kitarl Clan keeps an eye on. Yurgen tells them to be careful. They arrive to a differnet part of the hunting grounds. Rowen finds fresh footprints. Leia points out smaller footprints. Milla says to look around. They eventually come across Alvin and Elize in a room. Alvin is injured. Jude heals him up while Leia and Milla go over to Elize. Elize is crying because Teepo is speaking like those stuffed animals did when they were searching for his family.

Alvin says that one of the Exodus agents ripped something out of Teepo and now Teepo is talking funny. This means that Teepo was always just a toy. Elize says he was not a toy. Milla asks Alvin what happened to the Exodus agents. Alvin killed one of them, but the other gave him the slips. Milla praises him. Milla crushes a spyrix she sees on the floor. Elize asks about Teepo. Jude wonders if what was taken out of Teepo being put back in would do(like fixing him back to normal). Milla asks Alvin when the Exodus agents left. It was a while back. The trail is now cold, so they cannot follow the trail right now. Elize asks if they cannot help. Milla says they will split up if she insists on doing that. Rowen says they should go back to the city. Outside they run into Jiao and his dogs. he apologizes for frightening them. He sees that Elize has returned to this place and he sighs. he asks if she remembers it. Jude wonders about this. Alvin says this is where Elize was raised. The laboratory has been abandoned for a while. There was an intruder.

Milla speculates it was Alvin. Of course it was. He claims he was investigating boosters being made there. Jiao is shocked. Jude wonders what a booster is. It is something created by Auj Oule to ramp up the mana generated in the mana lobes of people. Teepo is revealed to be a 3rd generation booster. It reads the mind of the owner and speaks their thoughts. Elize's thoughts have always been spoken out loud the group speculates. Elize does not want to agree with that. She is adamant that Teepo is not a toy. She asks if they are friends. Teepo says they are not friends because he is a machine that verbalizes thoughts. Jude apologizes. Teepo asks Jiao about Elize's parents. Jiao says they are dead. Her parents apparently died four years ago. They were murdered by a bandit. She is sad. Leia steps over to try and make her feel better. Elize says that they will not understand because they have parents.

Elize runs off. Leia runs after her. There are shots fired. Jiao says those are poachers he is after. Milla asks why Elize was here. She was sold there. There was a woman that gathered orphans and took them to the laboratory. Jude asks if it was Isla. Jiao confirms this. Alvin follows this up by calling that a poacher of children. Jiao asks them to never leave Elize alone again then he leaves. Jude wonders how Elize is doing. Leia says she is doing as well as she can be. They agree to go back to the city. Down further in this area before they return, an area is noted by Milla as being where the old booster lab used to be. Alvin mentions that many buildings used to be there, but they were torn down. This is his fault most likely. It was abandoned after he got in. Milla is sketical if that is all he did. The client appparently got more than their money's worth. He smuggled out information and a prototype. He threw out blueprints and mentions that he was surprised when he saw Elize and Teepo. Jude notes that this means Alvin knew who they were the whole time.

What.A.Surprise :| Alvin does not see the problem since his job is over with. Jude is still unimpressed. Alvin legit seems to not understand why Jude is upset and asks what the problem is. Milla changes the subject by asking what Alvin's job was at the time. He feels like he is being interrogated. Rowen changes this to getting to know him better. Alvin relents. He says he was their escort. They all grumble at him when he sarcastically reminds them that they hired him. He sees no problem with this. They grumble. He insists that he is a professional that does a good job with the work he takes then he moves on.

Milla asks if something is on Jude's mind. He has not been the same since they saw Jiao. They run into Isla. She says she was worried. Leia says hesitantly that it was an adventure. Isla apologizes for dragging them into everything. Jude tells her to drop the act. Leia is unsure of what he is getting at. He reminds Leia that all outsiders are seen as comabatants or spectators. Milla agrees, remembering back to when Isla had asked them why they were in town when they first arrived. No one needs to ask that. She had orders to contact them by Exodus. Isla confirms this. She says she had no choice. Jude thinks it was blackmail. She claims they threatened to tell Yurgen about what she used to do. She begs them not to tell Yurgen. Milla says it is in the past, so why not tell. Isla believes Yurgen will leave her. Milla does not understand human love.

Milla asks Elize what to do. Isla asks for forgiveness. Elize says she does not care anymore. She stumbles away. Jude watches after her. Leia mentions that they should look for Yurgen to talk about the wyverns. Alvin notices Jude has something on his mind and asks about it. He ponders if there really is nothing Isla can do for Elize. Milla says only Isla can answer that. They cannot find Yurgen. There is worry over Elize. Rowen is troubled by the boosters. He recalls the experiment being done by Nachtigal at Fort Gandala. He wonders if that was a test of booster technology(remember Teepo was part of that experiment). There is speculation, in other words, that Rashugal already has booster technology. Milla says both sides ending up with this technology would cause a travesty unlike any other. Yurgen finds them in town. Alvin asks about the wyverns. Brink of war means that they cannot fly with the wyverns. He must travel to Kanbalar to get permission from the king. Jude wants to tell the king about what is going on.

Leia questions if the king would fight alongside them. Alvin does not seem keen on this. Milla says she would like to have a face-to-face herself with the king to ask him the truth behind the laboratory. Alvin turns away with an odd expression of irritation. Milla informs Yurgen that they will head to Kanbalar also. Jude and Leia speculate over how many other children were part of that experiment. Milla states she intends to get the answer out of the king and if he says something wrong, she will remind him of his duty. She will punish him by any means necessary otherwise. They go to get their luggage from the inn. Elize is silent. Rowen and Leia help her to her feet. Alvin says he will catch up with them. Milla says he did well to protect Elize. Alvin says he was prepared to honor his promise. He bows(in his own way...mockingly). Milla feels strong enough now to destroy the Lance without the Four. It will likely kill them. Jude thought they could not die. Milla says they will be replaced eventually, but would be different. Jude thinks this is sad.

Milla says a spirit's personality is unimportant compared to the importance of them being alive. Jude says that she must care about every spirit out there. She says she cares for all lives as equal. Jude thinks to himself. They met Yurgen and head for Kanbalar...but first Milla collapes in the hotel lobby. Jude wonders if they should rest for a few days. She says no, so Rowen and Leia fake injuries and Alvin says that sounds serious, so they should rest(because Leia has a hiccuping disorder she says :|). Milla relents. Jude asks Milla later if the asyrixis is still hurting her. Not like before she says. She cannot go on without the device. She is thankful for the device and accepts the pain. Leia wonders about alleviating her pain. Jude wants to get a Heart Herb to relieve her pain. They are used in aromatherapy. Alvin claims they are rare and he once tried to get some(for a lady -_-). Milla mentions again that pain is something she deals with. Leia tells her that Jude got her a Heart Herb. They explain what that is to her. Milla is surprised they went to all that trouble.

It calms the group down. It helps Milla, but she seems to be allergic in some way to the Heart Herb. She is excited to have hiccups. Rowen says there is no better medicine than laughter. In the lobby, they run into Karla again. She asks about them winning the tournament. Elize is now the youngest to win the tournament. She mentions that there was one other Elize's age that fought his way to the top without a Lilium Orb. Milla questions if that person was a spirit. His name was Erston Outway. This was Karla's brother. he won 20 years ago. They were part of a small tribe back then. The other tribes influenced enough to change why nobody knows about Erston's victory. This happened before the Dawn of Auj Oule as Rowen says. Before the current king, chiefs of several different tribes fought along with his predecessor. The current king put a stop to the fighting and death. Jude wonders how somebody could take having their name erased from winning.

Rowen says that he once was considered the 2nd strongest fighter in the military. He says he would have found his opponent again to thrash them for a second time if he had been robbed of a title like the one Erston had. Jude is surprised. Milla questions what Jude would do. He says he cannot even imagine. The group meets Alvin's mother. He tells them that he has no father or siblings and that Isla looks after her. His mother wakes up and looks straight at Jude. She calls him Balan and asks if he came over to play. She is obviously not in the right state of mind. She mentions that an Alfred is not here to play with him right now and she does not know where he went. His mother's name is Leticia. Alvin says that Alfred is at boarding school. She describes Alfred as a shy and lonely boy that cries a lot. Alvin says he sent a letter about being fine. She says she promised to take Alfred on a big boat when he comes home on break. Alvin says that Alfred cannot wait to go. Alvin is silent as Alfred is described as kind and thoughtful.

Another conversation with Leticia. He says being away from home is hard on her and that his father dying just adds to it. She always talked about how she wanted to go back home to the house they all lived in. He says maybe she is happier now that she forgot all of that. All the jobs he did were for his mom he claims. He does not want their sympathy. They run into Isla outside. She wants to say something. She mentions she was an orphan too and to not tell Yurgen about her life. She does not want to look after Leticia anymore and wants Exodus to leave her alone. Alvin cannot do any of that for her because Exodus makes the medicine his mother needs. Isla is the only doctor crazy enough to prescribe it. Isla still does not want to. He says it is a small price to pay for keeping his mouth shut. She is upset. Elize notices Isla is crying. Alvin waves that off as nothing.

He visits his mother again. She is saying strange things again. Alvin loved pies(peach pie). He had a sensitive stomach. he may or may not have made up cats in his letters to his mother. The cats' names are Jude and Milla according to what Leticia read/had read to her. Alvin says he is taking care of them. Leticia is sad to not see Alfred, but she is happy he is well. In Nia Khera, lvin walks off saying nature is calling. Leia wonders why he needs to tell them that. Ivar welcomes Milla. He introduces her to two people that were the children she played with when she was younger. They heard rumors of Maxwell and wanted to see her again. ude tells her to go ahead and catch up with them. Milla takes them to her shrine to chat. As they are on the way to the shrine, the two people reveal themselves to be enemies of Maxwell. They call out three men hiding behind trees with giant weapons on their hands. They are from Exodus, specifically from Exodus Primary Base as the only surviving children there that Milla destroyed.

Alvin shows up to shoot one of the Exodus members that had appeared. Milla is surprised to see him. He says he is just trying to protect his client. The Exodus members are told to set their spyrixes to full power. A fight starts and Alvin and Milla dispatch the enemies easily. Milla says she is surprised she never knew who they were and that Exodus members are humans. Alvin questions whether she thought they were monsters. She says no. She cannot spare who they all are. There is a moment of silence then they return where Ivar is speaking with Jude and Leia. He insists on showing them how tea is made by a handmaid. While he is gone, Milla and Alvin come into the room. Jude and Leia are oblivious pretty much. Ivar comes into the room and everybody is gone. It pisses him off.

At the clinic in Leronde, a boy runs out to call out to Jude. There is a problem. They see a patient that collapses in serious condition. Jude takes a look and finds that her mana lobe is hardening. He says she should be examined at a real hospital. Derrick pops into the room and notes right away the same thing Jude noticed, saying that it was caused by anomalous spirit activity, He asks Ellen to get the mustar and miquas(lol okay :V). Jude is afraid it will just end up being a possibility between life and death. His father is stern in letting him know that he should just step out. Later the patient is said to have made it. Milla is in awe of Derrick's skills. Jude says that if he had been wrong then there would not have been a good outcome. Derrick says that a doctor takes full responsibilities as an adult.

They make it to Kanbalar. Jude is in awe. Alvin says that the spirit faith in Auj Oule is stronger than in Rashugal. it is a snowy city. Leia is in awe of the mountain slide cars. They connect the districts in the mountains together. Leia looks to Elize who has an irritated look on her face. Yurgen will seek an audience for them. He suggests they stay at the inn. Leia asks Elize if she wants to go look around with her, but Teepo blurts out that Leia is holding them all back. Milla scolds Elize. Elize says she hates Leia and Milla. Leia says that stung a bit. Rowen says to not let it get to her. Meanwhile Jiao runs into Elize then turns when the group runs up. He says no reason to be alarmed. Leia apologizes to Elize, not imagining what it is like without the old Teepo. She apologizes, but Elize refuses. Leia says she will beg if she has to. Elize says she still hates them. Leia tries to tell her how much she cares, but Elize starts running off. Rowen stops her and tells her that everybody is telling her nice things and that maybe she needs to consider her own actions.

Elize is sad that she said horrible things to Leia. Rowen says "Forgiveness is the sign of a true friend." Elize goes up to Leia and says sorry. Leia will as long as Elize tells her more about herself in her own words. Milla seems happy. Yurgen has not gotten back yet. Alvin suggests storming into the castle. Jude disagrees, but Milla does not. They go up to the castle and Rowen tells them that the king is known for his charisma, that he unified a country with the strength of his character alone. Milla says this can only go so far if the government is producing children like Elize. She wants an answer. Elize thanks her. Yurgen says that it is good timing they are there and approval for wyverns went through. Also the king very much wants to meet with Maxwell. Yurgen thinks it is the tournament winning(this is doubtful). They are wondering if it is a trap. Alvin makes a noise. Milla asks what he is hiding from them. He says he has to keep the mystery for the ladies. Milla does not get it. Jude tries to explain. Alvin says they should go say hi to the king now. Jude says they need to know the truth.

Alvin tells them not to worry. He knows they put their trust in him(Alvin....Alvin...please -_-). They are stopped by the guards. They ask if one of them is Milla. They allow them to proceed. Leia notices that Rowen and Elize are hanging back. He says a doll is not appropriate for an audience with the king. Thy leave Teepo with a guard and continue to meet with the king. Rowen seems unsure about something. They see Jiao there. He introduces himself as Jiao the Immovable of the Chimeriad(four warriors in personal service to the king). The doors open and people step inside. The man to the side of the one in the chair says it is a great honor to meet former Chief of Staff Ilbert. Rowen recognizes him as Wingul the Nova, the Ebon Wing of Auj Oule. The man in the chair confirms that he is Gaius, the King of Auj Oule, and welcomes Maxwell. Jude states that boosters made in their country have fallen into Rashugal hands. The results will be terrible with war. Gaius seems unimpress. Leia steps forward to say that they plan on destroying one of Rashugal's weapons. They ask if they might assist them.

Wingul asks if there is anything else. Rowen states there is something else regarding the booster laboratory at Royal Hunting Grounds. Milla openly questions them if it is true that they abducted orphans to experiment with them. Gaius asks what this has anything to do with for a spirit like Milla. It is her duty to protect humans and spirits. Gaius finds this amusing. Wingul claims that the laboratory is his responsibility. He says it was a haven and they would have died. He says the experiments were entirely humane. Milla does not seem to believe them. Elize tries to speak. Wingul asks if she was THAT test subect. Jude talks about her being trapped. Gaius interrupts to ask if Jude understands what it takes to achieve happiness. Milla says it takes freedom to make your own choices and beliefs. Jude agrees. Gaius disagrees: When man loses his way, the ground beneath him crumbles into nothing. Uncertainty breeds entrapment. Happiness is finding a noble path across a lifetime without losing the way. His country does not produce failures. He keeps them from becoming trapped.

Gaius tells them why he called them. He knows Milla stole the key from the lab in Rashugal. He wants it immediately. Milla refuses. Gaius is unimpressed. She said she heard nothing as it is the same thing she has heard from humans. They never change even after 2000 years. Wingul directly asks Alvin where the key is. The others are shocked when Alvin just walks forward. he answers them by stating he is only doing his job. Wingul asks again where the key is. He states that Ivar has it back in Nia Khera. The door opens on the side and Presa hurries into the room. She calls Alvin Al and ask him what he is doing here. He says long time no see. Gaius asks why she is there. She says the Rashugal army has invaded Hamil. Rowen is shocked. The casualties are high. Many were either killed or captured. They were then sent to Rashugal. There was evidence of the power of a Great Spirit used on the village. Gaius seems skeptical since apparently nobody has been able to summon the Four in two decades. Milal says this is impossible as she would have known. She suspects the Lance of Kresnik.

She wonders if Nachtigal has made a new key. Gaius says if this is the case then he is declaring war immediately and to send word to all the clans. He will not allow harm to his people. Wingul says they have no use for them anymore. The guards approach them with weapons drawn. He states that having Maxwell captured might bend the unruly clans to their knees. Elize calls for Teepo and he takes out the guard that was holding onto him, so they can all escape. Wingul orders Maxwell to be captured and for the test subject to be recovered. They all escape out of the palace. Elize asks if Alvin really is the liar she thought he was. Rowen approaches her. He says he knows the man has his reasons, but he took it too far this time. Leia asks why he would. Milla does not know. Jude is mad and does not want him to show his face to them again.

They make it to a sealed gate that they have to reactivate five stones to open the door with their mana. It has to be done at the same time. Leia is apprehensive. Leia notices guards coming. The stones start activating all over, but Leia's is not done. She starts crying because she is holding everybody back. Milla starts to help her. She tells Leia to relax. She says she is not good enough. Milla tells her to stop thinking herself as inferior. They provide the mana and leave. They run into Presa. She says that Alvin(Al) sold them out in Nia Khera a long time ago. Jude says he was on their(Gaius') side the whole time. Presa actually says 'that man's no ally'. She says she will leave their relationship up to their imagination. She says and I quote: "Al drifts from one group to the next like a ship without a compass. Trying to plot his course is impossible. Serves you right for trusting him." Wingul shows up and says the Lance is their greatest threat. Milla is uninterested in their war. She only wants it out of human hands.

Rowen says this is enough. He directs his words at Wingul, saying a veteran of many battles did not become so through bloodshed that is meaningless. Wingul does not wish to be lectured on age. A sudden burst of mana later and Wingul has white hair and he is speaking another language. They realize that he has a booster. Rowen wonders if it is Long Dau that he is speaking. He intends to kill Maxwell instead of capturing her because that would be easier. They fight and beat the two into the ground. Milla intends to finish them off, but Jude stops her. He points out that guards are coming. Their time has run out. Wingul wonders out loud if Ilbert is running away again. Rowen stops and is accused of being the one that caused Nachtigal to become what he is now. Rowen continues running. They get back to Xian Du and Yurgen turns to them and aroaches. He asks how the audience was with the king. Milla states they do not have time for this and if the wyverns are ready. Yurgen says yes. Teepo almost gives away what happened.

A wild Alvin appears. He says there is no need to rush off. They are surprised to see him. he says that Gaius and them are on a wild goose chase in the mountains. Milla wonders if this is a peace offering if he threw them off of their scent. He goes: "What? it's only natural I helped you. We're friends, aren't we?" (Alvin...just no.). He persuades them to give him another shot with all that smooth talking. Elize takes a step back(Teepo's eyes are slanted). Leia has her arms crossed. Rowen says that he did indeed buy them some time. Yurgen has been there the whole time and just says that he does not want to know, saying they have a lot of drama(no....kidding...). He says to come see him when they want to fly. He will be at the wyvern cage.

Jude stops them on the way to the wyverns. Alvin says he must have his doubts and he is not the only one. He starts off by saying that when he went away from them in Nia Khera the first time he says he was meeting with Wingul. Rowen says he must have had an arrangemnt with them to hand Milla over if there were any problems. Leia scolds Alvin for stabbing Jude and Milla in the back as he did. Alvin says he was working a few different angels back then, but claims this time he was just using that to their advantage. He says he is the reason that they are able to use the wyverns right now because he spoke to them. Elize concludes that Alvin must have pretended to betray them in front of Gaius. He says that is exactly right(:|). They think the group is going the opposite way of Xian Du or so he claims. Jude cannot believe him yet. Milla brings up Presa and when they saw her at the Kijara Seafalls. He is reluctant to say anything. Jude snaps at him saying they cannot trust him if he will not give them information. Alvin tries to get him to calm down. No such luck.

Alvin finally state that he met Presa when he was working for Rashugal's intelligence service. She was an Auj Oule spy working undercover in Fennmont. Jude pushes him to say more. He says they became more personally involved(no details). Alvin tries to throw a sarcastic barb at Jude, but he does not budge. Milla asks Alvin what is in it for him for helping the group. He says: "Because I love the hell out of you guys, of course!" The group is not amused. Teepo says they are ust more lies. Alvin feigns being hurt over that. They run into Karla at the hotel. Leia introduces herself. She recognizes Alvin as being in the city before. She is from Kanbalar. She has not been back for a while. She asks if they met with Gaius. Jude confirms this. Jude admires him, but Leia believes him to be scary. Karla says he did not always used to be that way and asks if they know the Battle of Fezebel. It was fought on the Fezebel Outback twenty years ago between Rashugal and Auj Oule. The battle ended due to a giant tsunami. It caused dramatic change to the spirit-clime(the marsh has...marsh flows). Gaius lead a battalion of Long Dau soldiers though he was not their leader. he was only 20 years old when he did this. He lead them to victory.

He also sensed the arrival of the tsunami. He adviced the Long Dau chief of this to retreat, but the man would not do that. The tsunami wiped out all of Gaius' men. Alvin says this explains his anger. People need a strong leader though. Leia is awed that she knows so much about history and Gaius. She says there might be, but she gives away nothing. They meet with Karla again at the arena area. Jude pointedly asks what her relation to King Gaius is. Leia prods her further. Around the time of the Battle of Fezebel, she was supposed to marry somebody from the Long Dau tribe(arranged marriage). Love at first sight. He never came back to her due to the man being a Long Dau chief's aide and wanting to make a name for himself. He was the one that told the chief that Gaius was wrong about the tsunami. It is speculated that Gaius was the last one with Karla's fiance. There was no body. She is not sure if Gaius killed him or not. The king refused to answer. Her father passed away after the war and she never saw her brother Erston again. She is alone now.

Alvin speculates that of course she should hate King Gaius and he bets her hatred is the only thing keeping her going. She says he may be right. She says she has to leave Xian Du for a while. She says she will be going somewhere in Auj Oule. They go to hamil and notice that nobody is around. Elize is sad that her memories went with them. Milla questions why she cares after how she was treated. Elize says it was better than having no memories at all. Leia tries to make her happy by saying the trees and mountains are still around. She does no care about any of that. Leia notes that Teepo says things that Elize may not be consciously aware of. Leia ays that maybe Teepo can remember things she forgot. She suggests using Teepo in Xian Du to try and trigger memories. They go to Xian Du. While they are talking, Jude remembers that Wingul uses a booster and maybe he has a connection with Teepo. It is a different type of booster though. Elize is scared of him. Teepo recalls that Wingul was in the laboratory and used to be much thinner, always in pain from the side effects of the prototype. He is Test Subect No. 1. Milla says that Wingul must have volunteered to be a test subject. The people could not have made Teepo with Wingul. Jude remembers Wingul saying the experiments were you humane. He is not sure if that is true. They now know the experiments had purpose beyond cruelty.

They meet Yurgen at the wyvern cage and they head off towards Fennmont. They will not be able to land right in Rashugal capital, but they can land nearby in a highroad or something else. As they are flying along through the sky, a monster appears and tries to get them. Jude tells everybody to dive through the air towards the ground. The creature pursues them. Jude and Milla are shot down. As they are getting up, the creature comes at Jude but Alvin stands in front of him to block the attack. Jude asks if he is okay. He says this is no time to chat. They fight the creature known as the King of the Sky and they defeat it. They happened to have crash landed at Sharilton. Driselle appears with soldiers, but there is no need for anything. Elize says she is home and everybody greets her. Leia introduces herself. Driselle is still in shock. She thought Auj Oule was invading.

Alvin collapses over and Jude sees if he is okay. The attack he took was harder than he thought. Driselle has her guards help carry him. Driselle is seeing if a horse trainer can help heal the wyverns. He is skeptical as this is not his field. Rowen apologizes for the burden Driselle has on her shoulders. Some people recognize Rowen as Ilbert(tactician in Rashugal army). They are happy that he is on their side. They move on to the manor. Driselle tells them that it will take time for the wyverns and that they should rest while they can. Driselle leaves and they agree this is for the best before war. Milla tells them to get as much rest as possible. They have not rested since they departed Leronde. She says they need time to gather their thoughts. Milla says to Rowen that he still cannot bring himself to fight against Nachtigal. Rowen knows he must and he is concerned about what would happpen afterwards. If Nachtigal is defeated then there is mass confusion and chaos or the nation could even dissolve. Rowen sees all possible outcomes due to his experience with painful clarity to the point of not being able to act.

Milla tells him only he can decide what to do about it. She is fond of him. Rowen believes himself not to be worthy. He says that sometimes she treats them like a master treats a pet. He asks her to think of this as the pride of a lowly human. He asks her to look after the others when the battle it done. Alvin concerns him because he is less mature than he believes. He notes that Jude is so taken with Milla that he is growing up as quickly as possible. She asks if he plans on dying with Nachtigal. He says he does not, but he will be prepared for that outcome. Milla says he has her word. Milla goes to see Elize. Elize asks Milla to do their best to destroy the lance of Kresnik. Milla pinches Elize's cheeks, saying she was overcome to do so. She goes to see Leia and asks why she seems sad. She asks what Fennmont is like. Milla says a lot of people live there, but nobody knows each other. She prefers places like Leronde because everybody is neighborly. Milla asks Leia if she has experience with spyrix technology. Leia asks why she would know that and Milla says her expression was different than the others.

Leia says that she was a sickly kid, so she spent a lot of time being treated for her illness. She was hurt in an accident that was caused by a spyrix. Milla questions whether it was Exodus and Leia does not remember. She wonders if she was just too little or has amnesia. She just remembers somebody told her it was caused by a spyrix. Milla asks if she is okay now and Leia says she is. She says she almost gave up. It was a long road. She felt hopeless. Jude would try to cheer her up all the time. Now she wants to hel Jude out. Jude is her motivation is what Milla says. Leia blushes. This was on her list and Milla kept it. Milla does not understand why she does not show Jude the list or tell him herself. Leia makes Milla promise not to tell him. She realized that her reasons were for selfish reasons. Leia still believes herself to be dead weight compared to the rest. Milla says she has nothing to be ashamed of. It is not whether she succeeds or not. It is just important that she tries.

Milla runs into Alvin in town and asks why he is there when he should be recovering from his injury. He says that maybe he is plotting how to betray her again. She says that she cannot tell if he is joking. She tells him to drop it and tell her his true intentions. He goes back to saying he is doing all of this for his mother. Milla says she does not believe that as much anymore. He asks why. She points out that he has not severed all ties with Exodus and yet he does not try to assassinate her. He points out that maybe the opportunity has never resented itself. Maybe he is plotting that. Milla makes no move. He asks whether she will get mad or not. She says dying would be unfortunate as she would not be able to protect the world anymore. he tells her to get out of his face, so she will not worry about him killing her. As she walks away, Alvin points a gun at her back and makes a motion like he is firing an invisble bullet. He puts his gun away. He says she truly is Maxwell.

Milla runs into Jude next. He follows her towards the manor. He says it has been a long time since Milla was injured. She asks if he has figured out his mission and what he must do. He just wants to help her out. He also wants to protect the spirits since she is trying so hard to protect humans. Milla muses about him being a spirit protector. She considers maybe being wrong about humans. She never imagined a human wanting to protect spirit kind or making it their mission. She has never felt this happy before. She has renewed vigor to destroy the Lance. Jude asks her what she plans on doing after destroying the Lance. Destroying the Lance and the spyrix devices is merely one goal. She will return to Nia Khera most likely and live as she did before. He asks if Exodus is around if she will still be in danger. She says likely. He says she needs a bodyguard. She asks if he is offering to stay with her. She says he should do it if he feels he should and that she would need to create a story for him to stay there. He says thank you. It is the least she can do as he is the reason she is there right now.

Milla says she should be thanking him. Driselle shows up. The wyverns are recovered. They return to the plaza. Alvin has not shown up yet. Elize says he is probably figuring out his next lie(and she is likely right about that). Jude says it is not true. Milla asks them how they all feel about Alvin. Leia believes he is trying to help his mom and she is a sucker for that kind of stuff. Rowen worries that Alvin will not be able to deal with that way of life for much longer. Elize does not make a sound, but Teepo says that everybody should remember that Alvin saved her from the bad guys. Jude looks to Milla who wants to keep up their guard around him until he reveals his hand. His battle skills are worth keeping around. A wild Alvin appears to say it is not polite to talk behind somebody's back. He says that they are his only allies. Milla says they should be off. Teepo asks if Rowen intends to fight his friend. He says it is his fault and he will fight him when the time comes. Everybody has his back. Driselle would like him to return.

They fly off on the wyverns. They land at a road that leads to Fennmont. They get to Fennmont. There are guards there. Leia points towards the laboratory. That is where the Lance is. Jude leans down to help a guard. It is somebody he knows. The man says that a woman tricked them. That woman is an Auj Oule spy. Trying to arrest her made her detonate the entire chamber. Jude says it looks like Gaius is making his move. Milla will waste no more time. They are trying to get inside of a room that will not budge. Milla attempts to punch through there to get to the Lance. She is unsuccessful. Jude says to try for another way to it. They are inside the lab where Jude saw Dr. Haus die at. They find the mayor of Hamil. She is dying. She says all the villagers were frozen solid. Miall says not to give up. She dies. Elize is upset. Rowen speculates being frozen. Alvin says the woman may have been delusional since she was dying. Jude wonders if he can look through the security at the Lance. The Lance is not there. There is no wreckage, so it was moved. On the video feed earlier, they see Agria, the girl Milla and Jude encounted when they first met. They say she detonated a bomb when she was discovered.

Alvin says if he was her then he would not have risked his life even if his cover was blown. A dead body still provides intel. Jude suggests that she planned to blow up the Lance all along and Mr. Eldin found her by chance. Rowen says it is likely the girl did not know the Lance was gone, meaning she is either on her way to the Lance or trying to find the location. Milla wants to catch her. The explosion only happened half an hour ago. She may be in the city. They find her outside. Agria remembers them and she is supser excited about finishing them off. Milla wants to ask her something. Rowen recognizes Agria as a Lady Nadia of House Travis. Recognition sparks across her face. This confirms it. She is an heiress of one of the Six Ruling Houses spying for Auj Oule. She says she knows nothing about that house as she is Agria the Shadowless of the Chimeriad. So she works for Gaius. Since she was trying to destroy the Lance, Milla says they are allies. If she knows the location then she should tell them. Agria refuses. Leia says please. Agria says Leia reeks. She says before she destroys the Lance, she will use it to destroy Rashugal(you know...just because).

Leia asks what her problem is. Agria does not believe you can fix anything with hard work. They fight Agria and defeat her. Milla puts a sword to Agria's head and threatens her. She asks where the Lance is. Agria says that there is a secret passageway that leads to Orda Palace. Milla asks what that is. Jude says it is the palace where Nachtigal rules from. It is caved in, so they cannot go that way. Agria skitters back like a crab and yells threats from afar at Milla. She tells Leia that hard work will get her nowhere. They go to check out Orda Palace. At the medical school, they run into a woman named Prinn. She says she could never imagine Jude as a spy. She addresses Leia as she heard a lot about her. There is a slyphjay(aka a pigeon) that is injured she is helping as a favor for an acquaintence of hers. Leia mentions that it is the same kind of bird Alvin uses. Jude says they channel wind spirits with their mana lobes to help them fly long distances. They can distinguish between certain mana lobes to get to the right person. They are used mostly for military communication. Leia is impressed.

Prinn says that she will not be able to treat the bird unless she has Harmonica Grass. She cannot get any because of the situation in Fennmont. Leia says they will go get the ingredient. When they go get the item and bring it back, Agria is there speaking with Prinn about the bird. Prinn says she has friends bringing her the item to help. She refers to Agria as Lady Nadia. Agria is not pleased. The group comes in with the grass. Agria is highly amused with the situation. She tells them that Prinn is a liason for Auj Oule spies. Prinn is shocked she told them. Prinn's job is to send information Agria gets back to Auj Oule. The bird is their means of communication. Agria makes fun of them for helping the enemy. Agria makes fun of Leia more and Leia leaves the room. She is outside when ude and Rowen find her. Prinn interrupts them to thank them for their help. Rowen asks if Prinn is connected to House Travis. Her mother was Agria's nanny, so she has known the psycho since she was a baby. Agria's mother was a commoner. There was a lot of abuse inflicted due to that. House Travis has always focused on privilege more than the other Six Ruling Houses.

Agria's mother estranged herself from the Travis family leaders. She soon died and Nadia was convinced there was consiracy. Leia asks if this is why she is an Auj Oule spy. Rowen supposes what Rashugal was doing is unacceptable for any country. Nadia named him herself. Leia says she is glad the bird is okay. Prinn says she is exactly as Jude described her. The group makes their way to the front of Orda Palace where the security is not as tight as they imagined it would be. While Milla considers that charging in will not be a good idea, Rowen is considering their options. Rowen thinks they should go along with Jude and charge right in. Alvin is surprised. Milla asks if he has a plan. Rowen says they should test his hunch. They charge right into the guards at the gate and defeat them soundly. There are no reinforcements coming. Elize asks why there are not more soldiers. Alvin says it might be a trap. Rowen says that the Rashugal army has no doubt been deployed for war with Auj Oule. Jude questions this. Rowen says the defenses are few desite the natural and man-made barriers. A breach means that the city falls. Troops are mainly deployed to fortify the naval defenses and Fort Gandala. Milla sees this as war having begun thus they need to complete their mission quickly.

They get into Orda Palace where Rowen points out a Lotus Ring, something that functions like a teleporter that takes people around the palace. They will need to use it. Meanwhile in Nachtigal's throne room, Gilland is informing the king of intruders. Nachtigal demands to know who the intruders are when, like clockwork, the groups enters the room. He says that Milla looks much more lively since the injury she sustained at Fort Gandala. Nachtigal tells Gilland to go wait by the Lance and they will take out Auj Oule when Milla is defeated. The king directs his next words at Ilbert(Rowen) and asks if he really plans to raise his sword against him. Rowen says his only master is Lord Cline and no other. The king will forgive Rowen if he joins him. Rowen will not because he no longer believes him to be worthy of the throne. The king believes himself to be the most worthy. Milla says he lacks the qualities to rule. Nachtigal says he only needs one thing and that is birthright. This includes sacrificing his own people. He intends to extend his influence over the spirits as well. Jude of course speaks up. Nachtigal is unimpressed. Jude questions if he realizes how much his actions hurt Rowen. Nachtigal believes peace to be a luxury, not a right. He wants their surrender into his service.

Milla says he is beyond salvation. Nachtigal intends to end this now. He draws his weapon and begins to draw in mana, saying that he shares all the mana absorbed by the Lance of Kresnik. Rowen onces believed them to be friends along the same path. No longer. They all say inspirational things because this is Tales and they like them speeches. The king intends to show them the power that will unite Rieze Maxia. They fight and they defeat Nachtigal. He drops his weapon and falls to the ground. He calls them fools, saying that killing him will hand Rashugal over to Gaius. Regardless, as Rowen muses, Nachitgal must answer for all of the crimes he committed. The king continues, saying the Lance will get him the absolute power he needs. Milla says that is enough. The Lance will destroy everything as well as Nachtigal himself. Elize steps forward to say Rowen should handle this as this is his friend. Rowen steps forward. he says they have both turned away from responsibility. He asks that they build a new future for Rashugal together. The king asks if he intends to take on the crimes committed as well. It is of no consequence. Nachtigal seems prepared to accept this.

From elsewhere in a dark place, a voice asks if they should go ahead and do it. Another voice confirms. Shards appear out of nowhere from the air and pierce Nachtigal multiple times while he is seated on his throne. He dies. Rowen says not to worry about him and they must hurry now to the Lance. They rush over to the room where the Lance would be, but it is gone. As Nachtigal had absorbed the energy from the Lance during their battle, it had to have been there. Gilland is gone as well. She assumes he moved it. It could be anywhere. Rowen says they should leave the palace. As they leave, soldiers demand that they identify themselves. Rowen steps in front of Elize. They recognize him as Chief Ilbert. Another guard runs up to say that Auj Oule's army is on the march and quite large at over fifty thousand men. The war has officially started. On a battlefield, Gaius stands before his army. Wingul is bowed behind him. Gaius orders the troops to attack. The army prepares to attack. The two armies clash. The soliders of fifty thousand are coming from north of Fennmont at Fezebel Marsh. This seems impossible given the terrain there as the spirit-climes have stopped shifting. They cannot decipher their method of transportation.

Rashugal might not have time to mobilize in time. A soldier tells Rowen not to worry since Deputy Chief of Staff Gilland foresaw this and is moving their new weapons to the battlefield(this being the Lance of Kresnik). Gilland himself passed on this message to them. Rowen dismisses the soldiers. Milla suspects Gilland of having a plan. back in Orda Palace, Milla admires the library, said to be the largest library in Rieze Maxia. She would like to read them all. She likes herself some porn sounding books. Jude would rather not read that book. They arrive at Rashugal base at Fezebel Marsh. The guard tries to sto them, but Rowen introduces himself as Illbert and they get through. Rowen shows the grous a device that shows them a mapping of the battlefield that is made by the soldiers' Lilum Orbs. There is part of the division that looks different. It is Gilland's division. Agria tried to block them earlier, but was unsuccessful. A soldier confirms that Gilland's group should arrive within 1300 hours. The operation that Gilland intends will need to have as many soldiers as possible in that area when he arrives according to the soldier. Rowen does not like where this is going. Milla agrees since there is no doubt he will use the Lance. She does not understand why he would keep his own soldiers in the dark.

Elize asks if they can catch up to them before the Lance is used. Milla mentions that she has the key to the Lance and entrusted it to Ivar. Alvin in the corner looks up and says nothing. Jude says they figured taking the key would stop them. They assume a new key has been made. As Rowen questions how the Auj Oule army can march across the marshes, Alvin slips out like a snake. Rowen does not believe that Ragnome had ever arrived. The soldier in the room asks if they are familiar with the boosters that Auj Oule possesses. They look at Teepo then the soldier continues that the enemy is using the mana output to alter the spirit climes to their area only(they summoned earth spirits to force Ragnome). They changed the seasons and it must be Wingul's plan. Rashugal also has boosters. They have assigned certain soldiers the job of altering the spirit climes. Teepo believes this is a job for him and Elize, but it will go to Rowen as he knows earth artes. They need to intercept Gilland's division. Rowen asks to borrow a spare booster from the soldier. Nobody can say no to Rowen. The soldier warns that the boosters are rumored to carry serious side-effects. It saps strength with prolonged use(in other words it take your life a little at a time). Severity depends on how much it is used, so it is best to use it sparingly. Rowen looks at Elize(sadness :c).

Outside of the briefing tent, Jude overhears a conversation. It is a little broken up. He can make out something about the key being ready, a bird being sent off, no problems, something about moving the Lance instead, and killing Maxwell(wtf) then "Because......will kill......Max.....for sure." Of course Jude calls out for Alvin. He is not behind the boxes, but he does come up from the other side to play dumb. Jude could swear that he heard him. Alvin asks if he hit his head. The rest of the group confronts him about making up lies again. Alvin says to give him a break. Rowen says it is only natural, given the circumstances, that they should be suspicious when he wanders off. Jude wants to keep him close. Leia agrees and asks him to promise them. He agrees(Alvin...PLEASE...). Rowen activates the booster as they head through the marsh. They stick close as they battle their way towards their destination. Alvin tries suggesting finding a different route, but Jude states they do not have time for that. On of their own Rashugal soldiers attack them. They say that Gilland himself has claimed that Ilbert defected to the enemy and must be stopped at all costs.

Alvin: The end justifies the means./ How can you put your lives in danger like this? Don't you realize you'll throw everybody's lives into chaos if you end up dying?/Hey! You're pushing yourself too hard. You should fall back and rest./ When will this end? We're(I'm) so damn close.(This isn't enough to take me down.)/Would I lie at a time like this? /That part of me is gone./Gotta be serious sometimes./Agh! Damn it! Just leave us alone already!/Don't worry. I got your back, Elize./ You should be all right with that much energy.

Finally they get to their destination. They comes upon the Chimeriad consisting of Jiao, Wingul, and Presa. They are on their way to meet with Agria when they run into soldiers. They are easily taking care of the soldiers around them. They say thank you to Alvin for that waste of time searching in the mountains. Jude asks if they have taken out Gilland. Wingul refuses to answer. Milla tells them to get out of the way. She says that destroying the Lance will assure Auj Oule's victory. Rowen points out that it is unnecssary when it could cost them their lives. Nobody would support the king. Presa says the king would look after himself. Wingul makes a dig at Ilbert. He says that Rowen always fought from the rear and his inaction caused the king to become a tyrant thus the blood on his hands(which he apparently derserves). Jude states that it is Nachtigal that is responsible for his own actions. Wingul says to not ass blame, that individual fault is inconsequential to the good of a nation. They need a leader or chaos follows. Rowen can handle this Jude says. It is not that simple as he feels unworthy of the throne. Jiao says that their king is. They intend to add the lance to Gaius' power. Milla is unamused. Wingul goes Super Saiyan(booster activated). The group takes the Chimeriad on.

The Chimeriad loses of course. Rowen approaches Wingul, who is on the ground, and asks where his booster is. Wingul points to his head and tells him it is right there. he then falls unconscious. Rowen marvels that he would do such a thing for Gaius. Alvin approaches Presa, saying he is not interested in any last words, and points a gun to her head. Whether or not he would have actually shot her is unknown as Jude tells him the battle is over. Presa asks if that is really how Alvin lives his life. Presa says: "I'd watch my back around him. He's just playing with you now, and someday he'll throw you away." (so true). Jude says he would like to think that Alvin knows how he feels. Meanwhile, Elize approaches Jiao to find out why he cares about her so much. Jiao does not say a word. Milla interrupts to say they must press onward.

The group makes it to the Lance of Kresnik. Gaius is there. He notes that they must have defeated the Chimeriad then. Rowen is not surprised to see him on the battlefield alone. It is his path he says. Milla steps forward to ask why he wants to Lance. He intends to protect the people of the world with it, gathering other sources of power, and placing it under his safe control. Milla points out the fine line between protection and domination. The Lance will make him a bane to his people. It leads to ruin. Gaius does not believe his will will do anything, but guide him in the right direction. She says he has overlooked that despite his own power, he will die one day and he will not be able to guarantee that the next ruler will feel the same way he does. Gaius is silent. Milla goes on to say that eventually somebody will fall to that power and destroy Gaius' legacy. It is human nature. He claims he can start a new path. Milla says in the end he still proves himself to be human. Because he is humans, he says, he wants a united Rieze Maxia. He believes that she only sees it as greed and ambition. Alvin: I think you know what happens next.

Gaius says to show him their resolve and they do because they sort of defeat him. He is still standing and ready to fight. He powers up. Alvin looks around and wonders where he is(whoever he is). Ivar appears on a wyverns and tosses swords towards Gaisu who deflects them. He lands on the ground ready for action. Milla asks why he is there. He states that once her powers are restoredm she will beat Gaius easily. He brings the key to the Lance out. Milla looks annoyed. Ivar makes a quip at Jude before activating the Lance himself. Ivar claims that the Four Great Spirits will now be revived. The Lance begins to absorb the mana of everybody on the battlefield including the group. The Lance then fires into the sky where it appears to shatter it. They wonder what happened. Milla says it cannot be, that it broke through it all. She was mistaken all this time, the Lance never being a weapon at all. Jude is confused. Massive shots are fired down from above as multiple flying ships come through the hole that was seemingly ripped into the sky. Alvin asks what the hell is going on(and how :|).

In the rift there appears a figure. On the ground, the group is not sure what they are seeing. Gilland says he has finally done it, showing up with a new hairstyle and looking very dastardly. Alvin directly addresses Gilland, demanding to know what is going on. Milla is surprised that this is Gilland. Alvin points his gun towards Gilland, but shards nearly miss striking him in return. Gaius asks if Gilland is the one that attacked Hamil. He says yes that the spirit Celcius he has with him did that. Celcius appears(and is cute). Milla has never heard of her before. Gaius intends to make him pay for what he did. More shots from the sky and people with strange weapons descend from the ships. One of them asks Gilland if he is Gilland of Exodus. He concurs and directs them over towards Milla. She asks Gilland if he was the one that told Nachtigal about spyrix. Gilland says not to kill Milla. He orders the mobile armored units forward. The group is fired upon with guns and other weapons. Alvin is looking at Milla who is struggling to rise. He points a gun at her, but Gilland has Celcius hit him with an ice shard in the arm to have him drop the gun. Gilland wonders if he was paying attention and to stand and look pretty while staying out of it.

Elize is about to be attacked. Gilland says to bring her along as she is a fine specimen of booster compatibility. The men grab her. Milla runs to save her and Gaius appears to punch her in the gut. She passes out. He says she will just complicate things. He tells Jude they will settle the score later. He gives them Milla and tells them to flee with her since she is who they want. The group hesitates because they want to save Elize. Jude hands Milla to Rowen and Leia. he tells them to go on ahead. Wingul, Presa, and Jiao appear to help Gaius. Jiao gets Elize back. He wakes her up. He says he has a confession to make and an apology. He is hit by weapons and falls over slightly. He says he is the bandit who killed her parents. Meanwhile Gaius is still fighting the men from the sky. Jiao says he cannot protect her anymore. He tells her to live on. Elize asks why not. he tells Jude to protect Elize. Jiao walks forward with a smile. He helps Gaius. They share a look and Gaius walks off by saying thank you for his service. Wingul and Presa bow to him as they leave with Gaius. All the firing in the world on Jiao does not stop him. Jiao puts his mana lobe at full power and rips right through an army before him. A ship in the sky points a weapon at Jiao and he is taken out.

Jude, Alvin, and Elize are being fired upon in the meantime.

Milla finds herself in what she concludes to be a dream. She is fascinated. A voice in her dream says: "If the schism is lost, nothing will stand between the world and spyrix." She confirms that she must save Rieze Maxia from spyrix. More: "You must protect spiritkind and humanity alike. That is your purpose in life." If she dies then the world would be in danger. Also:"You must never choose death."
The voice fades away and Milla wakes up on the ground. She thinks to herself that she heard it a long time ago. She gets up and winces. She is inside of a cave alone. She steps out into the cold and begins to walk. She calls out for everybody, but nobody answers. She hears a noise. A man in strange gear like the ones that came down from the sky attacks her. but she beats them soundly. She sees another soldier in the distance and runs in the other direction.

As she walks, she tells herself out loud that she was too careless. Snow continues to fall. She muses to herself about self-doubt, hesitation, and dreams being human things/becoming more human. She says it has been a while since she has been alone. She ends up back where she started. She looks around. She hears Leia call out to her. Leia and Rowen meet up with her again. They said she never thought she would walk off on her own meaning they were caring for her in the cave. Milla apologizes. She asks where the others are, but they do not know. They begin to walk along. They tell her what happened. Rowen says he is certain the others are safe. They hear a flying ship from the marsh area. Leia is surprised that Rowen does not know about them. Milla gasps. Leia asks what is wrong, but she says it is nothing.

(It should be noted here that on Jude's path, he wakes up in the cold and meets a woman named Muzet. She claims herself to be a spirit and

Rowen suggests that they explore the cave. Milla talks to herself about feeling strange after the dream. She follows after Leia and Rowen into the cave. Leia asks where they are and Rowen has no idea. The world is a strange place. Milla questions if Wingul's words earlier are bothering him. Leia pushes on to ask if he is afraid nobody can unify things with Nachtigal gone. Nachtigal had a gift for unifying people. Milla adds that Rashugal's recent growth is testament to that. Rowen is afraid of what will happen and if he can help. Leia apologizes that she never realized how it affected him. Milla quiets them. There are more soldiers. They are talking about Milla. They are to capture her(though they say killing her would be easier). Leia wonders if they should capture them to make them talk. The soldiers hear them. They take on the soldiers and win easily. Leia says if something is wrong, Milla can tell them. She pushes her to get it off of her chest. Rowen notices a cube on the ground. It must be a spyrix, but there is also a spirit fossil on the ground.

Rowen notes that Milla appears to know what it is. Rowen wonders if she might know where the soldiers came from. Milla is silent a moment then she says they are from outside Rieze Maxia. They do not understand. She explains that Rieze Maxia is surrounded by a spirit arte known as the schism. Outside of the schism is a world called Elympios. The people from the skies come from there. The soldier makes a sound. Leia asks if Jude knows about this. Milla wonders if she should have explained it all sooner. A monster on fire runs past them and knocks them over. The soldiers are killed. Rowen insists they get going. They go further into the cave and Leia sks them if she has what it takes to be a nurse. Milla states that if it is because she did not save that soldier back there then she should not worry as he was beyond saving. As Milla walks off, she tells Rowen that it was also to help Jude as her job. Milla asks what is wrong with that and Rowen questions if it is because of what Agria said at the capital. She is worried that patients would question her motivation if they knew. Milla does not think motivation means a thing. Leia thinks she would believe that the effort that counts would be her excuses for her failures when she makes mistakes.

They suddenly hear a roar. It is the same beast as before and it is more angry now. It is behind Leia. The beast attacks and they defeat it. Milla feels she has been nothing but a burden to them lately. Rowen says that it happens to the best of us and to not let it trouble her. She says she feels a maddening feeling that gets in the way when she needs to focus. Leia asks if she is okay. Milla goes back to Leia's question from before. Results are important, but it is more important to do what must be done. Milla lost the Four and was crippled, but she still had the willpower to complete her task. Without will, success cannot follow. Leia says she hopes she will figure it all out. She asks how Milla feels about working alongside Jude one day. Milla will not abandon either of them before she finds an answer. Leia does not believe she understands. She wonders to herself if she was imagining things.

They arrive near Kanbalar's castle. Jude calls out to them and Elize runs over to hug Milla. Alvin is silent. A girl with Jude and the others floats over to Milla who does not recognize her. The girl states that she is Milla's elder sister. Milla says she does not have a sister. They are both spirits born into the world at the same time. Milla agrees she is a spirit. The girl says there is no need to be suspicious and what could anybody gain from impersonating her sister(Milla still seems unimpressed). She asks why the girl appeared before Jude. The girl says that Milla's powerful feelings summoned her before him. Elize muses if that could be possible. Milla admits that she does not know, but she hears a voice in her dreams. As they are talking, Wingul steps out of the small building they are standing in front of. The group is on their guard. He tells them to wait. A bell sounds and he says their information was correct(whose). Gilland comes over a loud speaker from Kanbalar saying how sorry he is for having to forcibly take the city, saying subjugation is not their goal. They were preventing a devastating war between two superpowers(okay Gilland...okay). Exodus will do everything to preserve safety and livelihoods(-_-). They desire the eternal peace of Rieze Maxia.

Milla despises Gilland for saying those things while he uses spyrix that hurts spirits and humans. The girl, Muzet, says they may have no choice but to eliminate all of them. Milla agrees. Elize asks how. Jude turns to Alvin and tells him to come completely clean with them. Alvin does not say a word. He gets up to get his message from the slyphay nearby. Milla assumes Gaius will not stand for what is happening and she directs these words at Wingul. When Wingul turns back to the building, Rowen says they are invited in. They wonder if it is a trap. Alvin say who cares and they should go inside. He also says: "I'm on the straight and narrow now. I promise." Milla wonders why they should believe him this time. Alvin says he has a score to settle with Gilland and wants to be the one to finish him off. He says: "If I betray you again, you have my permission to run me through with that sword of yours. So let me come with you." Milla asks what happens if she refuses. He says: "Then I'll kill him on my own." Milla accepts that. Alvins says thank you.

Inside they see Gaius, Wingul, Presa, and Agria. It seems he expected them. Wingul, referring to Alvin when addressing the group, notes that they chose to trust him and how naive that makes Milla. Milla ignores that to question why they brought them there. They want to fight the invaders and they will not stop the group. Gaius wants her to explain to them about the schism. Jude asks what that is. Milla begins by saying she created the spirit arte schism two millenia ago that created a new world(Rieze Maxia) and sealed it away. Leia is dumbfounded that it sounds like Milla created the entire world. She did it to protect humans and spirits. Gaius notes that Rieze Maxia is sealed which means there is another world outside the schism. That world is Elympios. She admits that she was mistaken about the Lance's true purpose. Nachtigal was convinced that it was a weapon when it was meant to dispel the schism. Milla does not know why, but she speculates it is to siphon mana back to Elympios. \

Alvin says that no. All Exodus wants is to go home to Elympios. He says that is all they ever wanted since they were trapped there for more than twenty years since being trapped in Rieze Maxia. They needed to find away to break through the schism or dispel it. Milla adds in that dispeling the schism means destroying the creator. That is why Exodus has been trying to kill Milla all this time. Gaius does not think this adds up. He wants to know Gilland's master plan. Elize is confused. Alvin adds in that Gilland did not need to bring in the whole Elympion army. Unifying Rieze Maxia was never the original intention. Gaius states that Gilland must intend to use Rieze Maxia with the schism intact. For what purpose? Alvin states the Otherworld Reactor Plan. It is known as the Spirit-fuel Plan. He remembers his cousin telling him about it when he was still at Elympios. It is about capturing spirits and using them to fuel spyrixes. Presa clarifies what he is saying by asking if Gilland's plan is to corral all spirits. Jude does not understand,. If Gilland wants spirits then why the lie...unless he plans on trapping everybody in Rieze Maxia for all their mana lobes. Gaius is VERY not pleased with people being used as power sources.

Alvin states that Gilland likely returned to Exodus HQ on the ocean with the Elympion army there which makes going by boat difficult. Wingul suggests that commandeering one of the flying ships docked at Kanbalar would be the best way to go. Rowen says it may be their only option when Leia expresses doubt in simplicity. Gaius intends to attack tomorrow. As they begin to walk away, Jude calls out that they should work together more or less. Gaius sounds less than enthusiastic, saying that Maxwell creating the schism and trapped them there in the first place. He does not intend on forgiving imprisonment so easily, so they may fight again someday. Basically they say let them do what they want and vice versa and stay out of everybody's way. Leia is unhaoppy with the reply, but Milla notes that they must be shorthanded as they had just given them a lot of information. Rowen still believes that Gaius is counting on all of them. Alvin says for now at least.

In the morning, Rowen asks Wingul if he is correct in understanding that he led Auj Oule armies at Fezebel Marsh. He says that using boosters to move through there was a brilliant strategy. Wingul believes Rowen is mocking him since it played into Gilland's hands. Rowen says he shared the same blame. Wingul believes Rowen is trying to erase his shame. He wonders how much experience towen still has in him. He asks him if he wants to play a game: A mock battle using a real military map. Rowen accepts. They stand before a battle board that is for the battle in Fezebel Outback twenty years ago(The Battle of Fezebel). The battle that ended in a tsunami. They start their little battle. Rowen wins. Wingul is not satisfied. Elize says he learned from his mistake.

While the group is sleeping, Alvin steps into the room to point a gun at a 'sleeping' Milla. Milla says this sort of thing eould mean she would have to kill him. He says good luck killing him when she is dead. She asks about what the message he received today said. She thought he was in shock over Gilland's betrayel, but the timing was off. Alvin sits on the side of the bed and says that his mother passed away. Milla states that all humans die. First Gilland betrays him then his mother dies. Milla asks if he still wants to return to Elympios. He asks what choice does he have. Milla will not die. She asks if he would stay in Rieze Maxia. He is in shock. She follows wondering if that would be so terrible to stay with the whole group. He says she is the first person to offer that after knowing who he really is. He believes her to be out of her mind as he points the gun at her again. He leaves the room without shooting.

Milla walks out into the main area of the building to find Jude who cannot sleep either. Jude believes Milal said all the right things. Gaius steps in to ask what justice means to Milla. Justice to her means the power of will that resides in one's heart. Gaius agrees with that. The strong must protect and guide the weak. Milla says weakness is not an affliction of the body, but of the heart. The world will always have weak-willed people. This is not a bad thing in itself. Gaius wants to protect the weak until they become strong. They all need to protect the weak, so future generations will have sufficient strength. He feels he can chart a new future with enough power. Mankind is doomed when people like Gilland who only want power for their own gain appear. Milla does not intend to interfere with his perceptions and goals. Jude says the two of them are alike. Gaius asks how. No matter how extreme the words are, there is always truth to them. He asks if Jude wants to be like Maxwell. Gaius leaves when Jude says he would like to. Jude and Milla go to sleep.

In the morning, Rowen asks how they will hijack a ship in the sky. Wingul mentions wyverns from the castle. They have to get there first. Gaius and the Chimeriad intend on marching right up to the front gate and reclaim it. They will not sneak in. Rowen suggests being in two groups. Gaius asks if Jude knows what he must do. Jude will see that Milla wins. Gaius and his team leave. Presa tells the group about a path away from the temple to the city. They will move along the rooftops to get the wyverns and take out the guards at the castle while Gaius and the others create a diversion. They go. Along the rooftops, they look down to see Gaius and company tearing through the streets. Gaius saves Jude from being hit by a soldier. Later on Rowen notes that Gaius and company are struggling. Leia and Jude wonder if they should help them. Milla disagrees. Villagers and soldiers on the side of the king appear to help him. Jude is surprised. Alvin reminds Jude that it is still his job to help Milla win. Jude agrees.

They finally make it to the wyverns and take to the skies. They ambush a flying ship. Rowen says they must commandeer the bridge. They have to fight their way through. Jude suggests splitting into two groups: One to run over to the bridge and bring it to ground level. Alvin says this is a good idea, so that Gaius and company can reinforce them to help break through the troops. Rowen asks who should go. Jude attacks a soldier and tells them that he will stay and for Milla to go. She asks if he is sure. Suddenly Ivar's garbled voice sounds out to the group. He leaps down from his wyvern and attacks a ton of soldiers. Alvin might be genuinely surprised here that Ivar survived if the way he says his words do not give that away. Ivar tries to insult Jude about being the star now, but Jude just accepts that with a smile saying that he needs a breather. Ivar is not pleased. They trade amusing words here. Alvin says that Jude has gotten really good at handling him. They wonder if Ivar is obsessed with Jude now. Meanwhile Ivar is crawling up a giant cable towards the bridge like a demented crab. The group continues to fight on through the soldiers. Ivar finally seizes the bridge and announces that the soldiers on board should drop their weapons and surrender. Jude tells him to land on the ground.

Ivar does not know how to control the ship to have it land. He pushes a button that releases more things to fight. Muzet appears, but offers no real advice about the machines. It does not matter. The group lays waste to them. Gaius and company arrive on wyverns to say they will take over from here. Jude states that they probably never needed them. Gaius walks up to Jude and they share a meaningful look. Ivar tries to get buttpats from Milla, but she says it is no thanks to him with how this all went. Soon they are in the Kanbalar palace with Gaius at home at his throne. He calls out aloud how long it will take before the ships is operational. Wingul informs him that it could take a few hours. Milla suggests that they all rest. As Milla is walking on her own, she overhears Agria addressing Leia(aka the pimple according to Agria here) by asking if she wants to be a nurse. She bets it is because of Jude. Leia does not try to hide that then feigns liking Jude when Agria pushes. Agria says that she admits her opinion of Leia has improved...because thinking with Leia's heart and not her brain will get a patient killed which will be hilarious(:|). Leia says that will not happen. Agria says that Jude has the hots for Maxwell. Milla seems dumbfounded from the shadows. Agria senses that somebody is there. Leia takes the opportunity to run.

Milla then runs across Alvin greeting Presa cheesily. She muses that he thinks charm will get him back in her life. Alvin says they get to fight side by side again. Alvin wink(;]). Presa says she would sooner kill him. He approaches her and holds out his hand, saying it will be just like old times. She stares and blushes. She then asks if she is supposed to forget how many died because of him. There is a moment of silence then he says that is ancient history. Presa says she was captured too and if he understood what she went through. She thought she found her place at his side, but she will not forgive and forget being tossed away. Wingul interrupts to ask for Presa's opinion in integrating Rashugal soldiers with theirs. She walks away from Alvin. He calls out that see? Her new friends need her. Alvin says more to himself about Presa: "You found your place after all." He seems sad about this(more for himself than for her when it comes to friends). Milla leaves the scene.

Milla goes outside and Jude finds her there. Milla seems a little distracted. She puts her hand over the left side of her chest as she did before with the scene with Agria and Leia. Jude asks if she needs to rest. Milla agrees. Maybe it is fatigue that is affecting her. Sitting down for a moment does not help as she informs Jude. She says maybe they should chat for a while. Jude ponders with her what Elympios looks like and she explains that she does not actually know anything about it, not the climate or anything else. She asks if that is strange. Jude says it must have been a long time since she has seen it. She says it is not memory. She just does not know. Jude tells her not to worry about it. Milla adds that all she knows is that Elympios uses a lot of spyrix technology. Jude questions why the people of Elympios would use spyrix so much when they should have mana lobes. She states that it must just be easier for them, no doubt a temptation. She starts to ask Jude a question: "Do you...uh..." and trails off. Jude say she is acting weird today. A soldier interrupts to say that the ship is ready to depart. Jude is taken by surprise when Muzet appears out of nowhere beside Milla.

Muzet asks to speak with Milla private for a moment. Jude says he will wait inside for them. Muzet reminds Milla that the safety of the schism depends on her survival. Milla questions if this is all she wanted to say. This is confirmed. Milla states that recently her actions are running rampant with contradiction. As this has never happened before, she questions why. Muzet clarifies this as putting humans in danger then states that it is all in Milla's head. Milla thinks to herself that this has never happened before, saying that Maxwell's mission and her own actions are contradicting each other.

Howe's Egg Principle: "If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

After reciting this, she asks herself who she is. Muzet comes out to ask Milla if she is coming to the castle. The group is waiting for them. Rowen says they should make sure they are fully prepared. Later Leia and Jude run off to get dumplings for Leia's mother(and they seem quite adamant about doing this now of all times) and Milla and Muzet are left alone. Milla is musing about having a family and how she thought about what it would be like. Muzet says she sounds like she understands humans more now. Milla states that she has never felt this before and how different it is from the duties of Maxwell. Security is the word she thinks of with family. Muzet does not feel the same even though she said she had pride with Maxwell being a part of her family. Milla doubts her arrival because of her summoning her to her side. Muzet states that there is nothing more important than fulfilling Maxwell's orders. Leia and Jude arrive suddenly. Milla says not to worry about it.

Milla: "The most important thing to a spirit is the purpose of its existence. Its duty."

She muses that humans have the duty of survival that gets in the way of that sometimes. Muzet does not understand. They come across Wingul giving instructions to soldiers about being prepared for the ship they are to attack. Milla takes notice and he states that 99% of a battle is won before it starts. He leaves nothing to chance, so he did not factor in the group. If something happens to them being the distraction then his plans will not be lost. Elize wonders if Jiao was not accounted for. Wingul says it was unlike them. He respected Jiao and was bested by him. He does not agree with the term friend(he never agrees with much). Jude runs into Karla who asks him if he has a moment. Jude sits down to listen to the history of Kanbalar. Jude is confused. Karla says to go with it. It is about Gaius(he who pulls the world behind him). Jude finds out that Gaius is not his real name. Karla asks if he is prepared for the consequences. Gaius defeated Wingul of the Long Dau tribe to get him in his service. This is the reason why Gaius seized Kanbalar to begin with years back. He announced himself King of Auj Oule. He was 22 years at the time. Jude asks if Gaius' family misses him.. Karla tells him that they would understand that his word takes precedence over everything. Karla thanks him for helping her practice.

Meanwhile on the ship the group is there as Gaius is addressing his troops, Rashugal's troops, and even Ivar is there. Wingul prompts Gaius to speak. He says that Auj Oule and Rashugal used to fight as enemies, but now they are allies. They have located the enemy ship called the Zenethra. He calls for them toreclaim their world. There is much rejoicing. A soldier runs up and states that there is a high-energy channeling circle surrounding all of Rieze Maxia. Suddenly everybody is forced to their knees as their mana and that of the world's is being absorbed by the Lance of Kresnik. Gaius utters the Spirit-fuel Plan. He once again tells himself that he will protect Rieze Maxia. He calls for the ship to be made airbourne. In the air, Milla cannot shake a dreadful feeling she has. She feels her doubt is causing this. Jude shows up. He has been looking for her. He asks to join her. She hesitantly agree. She talks about how she once was able to fly like the ship and that she never noticed how beautiful the world is. She took it for granted. Jude starts to ask her about something he said a while back then says never mind(-_-). Milla says she needs to tell Jude about who she really is. She says she lied to him then they are interrupted by what sounds like Agria. Jude tries to prompt her further and says they will talk later. Jude hesitantly walks away.

She asks herself if she is afraid of Jude knowing the truth. She forms the channeling circle in the air that she normally used to call the Four, but they do not come. She muses that of course they would not(they are still trapped). The ship begins to shake. In the distance, a great light is surging upwards into the sky. Milla catches up to the group and Gaius' crew. Another hole has been put through the schism. No ships have come through this time though. Alvin wonders if they sent the mana they gathered back to Elympios. Jude says that it looks like the fuel-plan theory was right. Alvin muses that he is only ever right in a worst-case scenario. Agria sees an enemy ship coming in the distance. The ship braces for impact as they are being fired upon then they are hit hard. Soldiers descend upon them with their spyrix weapons. Once gaain, the group and Gaius and Co. have to fight. They finally place their flying ship next to the Zenethra. Jude and the rest of the group jump on board to take out some annoying soldiers. Muzet takes out some air ships with her impressive power. They are in awe. She only wants them to succeed. She once again reminds Milla that she is Maxwell. Milla says they should split into two groups. Gaius makes sure to silently remind Jude about doing what must be done and he reminds them that the targets are Gilland and the Lance. Ivar suddenly jumps down from above. He joins Gaius' group. Presa tells Alvin(Al) not to die.

The group takes on more soldiers and defeat them. Leia picks up a device and asks what it is. Alvin calls it a radio. He holds out his hand and Leia hands it to him. He says it is used to communicate small distances. Through it they hear Ivar getting caught. An irritated Milla says they will worry about him after they complete their task. The ground shakes and Milla states that a vast number of spirits have perished again. The Lance was used again. Inside Leia marvels that is looks like a mansion. Jude thought it was a battleship. Alvin says that the E.S.S. Zenethra is a cruise ship that use to be on Elyimpios oceans. It ended up in Rieze Maxia twenty years ago when the schism ruptured. Milla notes that this is when the Elympion army broke through the schism. Rowen asks how they could break through without the Lance. Milla does not know. Alvin is so kind enough to fill this blank in by stating that the original Lance was developed by the Elympion army. The current Lance was modeled after the original one. Jude asks if it is because they wanted spirits. Alvin states that Elympios is a world built on and developed around spyrix, the foundation of their civilization. Elize asks why they cannot just find another means(and Teepo insults Alvin as per usual).

Alvin says they are not like them. They do not have mana lobes(as stated in wikis it is not that they do not have mana lobes...they are just under developed). They cannot wield spirits artes and lack the ability to manipulate mana, so they use spyrix instead. Alvin notes they put up barrier bars. Over the radio, it is stated that the barrier ha bene put up but there is trouble with the other generators. One of them on the other end asks if something is wrong. They say there is nothing wrong and the malfunction must be elsewhere. There are soldiers sent to guard the port and starboad generators to defend them. To disengage the bars, they will have to shutdown the generators. They destroy the generators with Alvin's special touch(he shoots them). The bars disappear and they are able to get to the room with the Lance inside. Gilland is waiting for them. He thanks them for delivering Maxwell to him. He directly speaks with Alvin, called him Alfred Vint Svent, asking if that is why he betrayed them(Exodus). The truth is that Alvin despises Gilland. Gilland asks him if he is prepared to spend the rest of his life in Rieze Maxia. Like that matters to Alvin. Gilland laughs and attacks them with icy shards. The group has to jump out of the way.

Milla, as well as the rest of the group, is surprised. No spirits died during his making of that. Alvin fires his gun at Gilland, but Celcius appears to block the bullets at the last moment. Milla blocks a Celsius attack. Celsius tells Milla she looks different now. Gilland responds by slapping the spirit across the face(rude.). He tells her not to speak and she complies. Leia wants to know why Celcius takes orders from Gilland. Leia tries to say that humans and spirits should coexist. Gilland calsl Celsius not the 'garden-variety type spirit. She is what he calls a spyrite. He states that they used boosters to recreate the spirit Celsius from a spirit fossil where the spirit lied dormant. Celsius is the physical manifestation of a spirit arte itself. Alvin asks if that means that Gilland is using the spyrite to use mana artes himself. This is why Gilland refers to her as a tool. This is why Gilland took Teepo's data back in Fort Gandala. Gilland personally thanks Elize for her help with giving them the means to create spyrites and how to turn Rieze Maxia into energy. When he antagonizes Elize, Rowen calls him a monster. Gilland addresses him as the Conductor, saying he thought the current had closed on the old man. Rowen states that he is as stubborn as his king(Nachtigal) and he will not forgive Gilland for toying with his life.

Gilland wants them to know their place. Jude says Gilland knows nothing about ambition or power since he uses them for twisted objectives. Milla asks him if he knows the difference between him and Jude. he syas he does not care. Milla replies that this is what makes him a fool. The Lance is gearing up to absorb more mana. Gilland states he will allow Maxwell to live, but he spins his large gun around like a real cowboy and says the rest will die. Milla once again states her purpose to protect Rieze Maxia, spirits and people alike. They take on Gilland and Celsius and defeat them soundly. Gilland is on his knees, stating that this cannot be happening after they just created a spyrite. Alvin states that Gilland only wants to gain favor from the outside to boost his influence. He asks what the point is in creating spyrites. Gilland says that spyrites are different from spyrixes as they allow them to wield power without consuming spirits. Elympios is has many people and a lot of technology. Spyrites are needed to sustain them. Elympios has fewer and fewer in Elympios, the mana goes with it meaning that world will fade away. This is why he implemented the Otherworld Reactor Plan.

Leia chimes in that it is still Gilland's/Elympios' fault for getting hooked on spyrix and that they still need to live with the consequences. Gilland insists that spyrites becoming commonplace will give Elympios all the mana they need. Gilland angrily shouts that it was not him that started that 2000 years ago. He screams out in pain as his left arm sparks with black electricity. Alvin asks if he is okay and Gilland states that his death is not going to change the fate of Rieze Maxia. The plan will proceed as long as the schism exists, saying everything they did is for nothing. He falls over and dies as Celsius fades away beside him. Leia asks if he is dead now and Rowen states this may have been the price he paid for wielding Celsius. Alvin ulls a golden six shooter gun off of Gilland before calling him Gilandor Yul Svent. He was Alvin's uncle. Gaius and Co. arrive to ask if everything is settled. Jude says they just missed it all. Milla states they must have Exodus abandon their plans for the sake of Rieze Maxia. She leans down to a device on the floor. Once it is released, she calls upon the Four and says she is glad to see them again. She tells Gaius even he will not interfere here.

She intends to destroy the Lance. As she is preparing to do so, a powerful arte forces them down to the floor that is very painful. They wonder if Gilland had set a trap. Jude comes up with the idea of using the Lance of Kresnik to dispel the arte. Milla agrees. Leia asks if that will work given that the Lance is out of mana. Rowen says that maybe if they focus their mana into it then maybe it will work. Agria does not like that. Gaius says they have no choice even if it kills them. Milla calls the Four out to her as she staggers towards the Lance. As Milla approaches the consule, she states that there is no need for everybody to risk their lives. Jude realizes what she intends to do. Alvin asks what she is doing since she is supposed to stick around to help protect the world. There are many things she has left to do. Milla says with the schism gone that Exodus' plans will come to an end. She questions why the Four are still with her and that she wants them to go with the others. She apologizes to them for having them here. She just wants to live as Maxwell. They say things have changed and that she plans on offing herself. One spirit says that she does not have to do that. She says that she does not want to disappoint Jude. When he watches her, she wants to be the Maxwell he respects. One spirits asks what there is to fear.

Milla realizes that she understands now that it is that she has become afraid of loss. Her friends call out that she does not need to do this. She says to Jude that he will be fine without her. "Farewell. Goodbye, Jude." The Four hold up their hands as if to say their own farewell around Milla. The Lance is fired as Milla pours her mana into it. After it is all over, Milla's body falls to the side and Jude cannot get to her as debris all starts coming down around them. Jude screams(NOOoooooOOoooo). meanwhile Muzet watches from above as the ship comes apart where she was casting a spell. Milla,s body is seen floating down towards the depths of the ocean as it disentegrates into light.

[It is important to note Jude's side at this point since both sides are very integral here to characterization. This focuses more on Alvin as well. So here goes:

Jude is distraught after Milla has gone away. He does not know what to do now. His mission was to help her. He is going over this while sitting on the bed in the small house in Hamil. Leia walks into the room with a tray of food. She says she was able to get in touch with Rowen and Elize, but not Alvin. Jude knocks the food over and tells her to stop. She tries to be light-hearted about him needing to stop doing that. She goes to make him more food. In the hallway, she hears Jude and it makes her sad. From the corner of the house a wild Alvin appears and points a gun at Jude. All he has to do is kill Jude and the others off to get back to Elympios. It is part of a deal he made with Muzet. Jude does not seem too fazed by this. He thinks back to Muzet who ended up attacking everybody because anybody who learns about the schism must die. She said it was her mission. He tells Alvin to go ahead and do what he wants. Alvin rushes forward in anger and pushes the barrel of the gun to Jude's head. He tells Jude how much he pisses him off. Alvin's gun hand is shaking.

Leia suddenly tells him to stop as she runs herself into him. The gun fires up into the ceiling. As she grapples to knock the gun away, Alvin pushes her away from him. He goes to load the gun again only to have Leia hit him again. She knocks his gun and the bullets out of his hand then runs over to pull Jude up from the bed. Alvin yells after them. Jude falls over outside and Leia keeps trying to convince him of Milla's mission that ended in sacrifice. They cannot give up. Jude muses inwardly about Milla's mission and when they had washed up in a seahaven after the incident of her sacrifice. Muzet had told them that Milla was just the bait to lure out Gilland and people like him. She said duty and justice never mattered to her. Judes thinks Milla's mission meant nothing. Leia takes Jude up into a structure in the trees, structures of wood bridges in Hamil. A bullet tears the wood near them as Alvin continues to pursue them. he tells them to stop where they are and Leia says she will not allow him to hurt Jude. Alvin says there is nowhere else to run and it is over. Leia insists it is not over and that he should open his eyes. She curses as she prepares to fight him herself with her staff. Alvin: "Every damn thing we did was pointless." He draws his sword. As they fight in the background, Jude considers the word pointless.

He remembers back to when he first met Milla. It was not pointless. He met Milla and traveled with her. She made him think and taught him things. He grew up because of her. He thinks back to the seahaven and Alvin noticing the schism still being up. He still cannot see Elympios. He laughs a little nervously before turning to Jude and saying if the schism was not dispelled then letting her die had no point. She died for nothing. Jude comes back to the present where Leia says that is not true. Her and Alvin continue to fight(doing some crazy acrobatic things running along the wooden railings). She says everybody is still here, listing off their friends and Gaius and such. Alvin asks what the point of saving their lives was if she is gone now. He knocks Leia's weapon away. He quickly elbows her in the face to knock her to the floor of the wooden bridge. He points his gun at judeo nce more who does not flinch. Leia grapples with Alvin again only to be knocked down again. He shoots at the area next to her as she moves slightly to the side on the ground. The wood splinters and she and Jude falls all the way to the earth below. Alvin watches from above, saying they are just plain human beings and they cannot be like her.

Jude once again considers that Milla had inspired everybody to give everything they had. Everybody kept going for her and nobody can be like her. Muzet taunted Jude by saying how torn Milla was with her mission to protect the schism and the actions that would lead to her death. Her existence consisted of lies about her and her mission. This is why she never found her answer. She valued all lives above her own life. This is the Milla he loved. Muzet chastizes him that it was all for nothing and his feeling meant nothing. He has to set them aside now. Jude wakes up to Leia telling him to hurry. She tells him not to throw away the life that Milla saved. Jude says thank you to Leia as she goes to help him up. A shot is fired and hits her in the back. She falls forward until her head touches with Jude's. Her eyes slowly close and she falls to the ground seemingly unconscious. Jude is in shock over what happened. He calls out to her before turning to see Alvin staggering towards them with the gun pointed his way. Alvin stutters, saying that he didn't mean to. Jude angrily calls out Alvin's name as he rushes as him and Alvin rushes towards him saying that this is his fault. They punch each other at the same time. They begin to fight each other.

During the battle, Jude asks why he is doing this. Alvin wonders why he suspected anything else and that Jude has pissed him off since day one. Always the perfect student trying to please everybody with his ideas. Jude asks what he expected him to do. Jude defeats him(it is possible to not win here and the game keeps going). Leia's eyes open only slightly, but she is currently unnoticed. Jude is punching the crap out of Alvin's face. He finally just slows down. He tells Jude to go ahead and kill him. Jude is upset and says that he should not be so eager to throw away his (rotten)life after Milla saved it. Milla died to help them live. She did not die so they would end up like this. Alvin asks what the hell they should be doing now. He is not Milla and cannot live like her. He does not have a mission to fulfill. Jude pulls Alvin up to tell him that Milla is not there. She cannot hold their hands anymore. They have to think for themselves. Alvin asks how. Jude yells that no one is going to make the decisions for them anymore. No one takes responsibility for their actions ever again. Even if her mission was all a lie, she was still willing to lose her life over it. Jude: "It's not a matter of if you can or can't. It's a matter of whether you do or don't." Leia is silent and Alvin is surprised at his words.

Jude continues wondering why it took him this long to figure out what Milla was saying. Leia finally passes out. Jude tells Alvin that they should get moving now. Alvin pulls himself up and pushes Jude aside as he staggers off. Jude takes care of Leia inside of the small house.

At Nia Khera Hollowmont behind Milla's shrine at the summit, they come across Agria, Presa, and our old pal Alvin. Leia and him lock eyes for a second and Alvin seems slightly uncomfortable. He goes to stand with the others against them. He hesitantly asks what they are doing here. Jude says he could ask the same thing. Presa mentions that this time they do not need to play nice anymore which pleases Agria. Agria asks Leia point blank how it felt to be shot by her buddy(Alvin). Leia looks down at the ground. Alvin tells Agria to knock it off. Rowen tells them they will not be easily stopped since they have to get Jude up to see Maxwell. Rowen talkes about Milla's and Gaius' conviction. Agria points out that was not the case for Rowen who agrees. He also adds thought that it is never too late for people to change. He directs that at Alvin who says he cannot give them an answer to that. As Agria begins to call on an arte of some kind, Alvin steps in front of her with his back to the group and holds up his hands. Presa questions him. Alvin hesitates. Agria fires off a fireball and Alvin takes it in the chest. Leia steps up and asks Agria why she is doing this. Agria does not care to listen as she will not turn against Gaius. She turns to Presa who agrees and says everybody treated them like scum until he took them in. They do their job or end up in the trash again. Not even Alvin will get past them.

The fight begins. Presa says it is about time she ends that miserable life of Alvin's who says he cannot let that happen. They defeat them and Presa says she is glad that she and Alvin got to be together again even if it was for a short time. Alvin tries to speak, but she says that she is happy for him because he found his place also. The ground begins to crumble. Alvin runs forward to try and reach Presa, but she falls away to her death. Leia runs forward to grab Agria's hand, saying that she has her. Agria's face changes for one second before she tells Leia to listen up. There are some things she will never be able to change no matter how hard she tries. Agria makes Leia let go by shaking herself loose. She falls away laughing. Leia is sad. Jude asks if she is okay. He tries to cheer her up. She says she is okay and to go cheer up Alvin. Rowen tells Leia she plays the marthyr well. She says that is probably why she fell for him. The only real strength she feels like she has is to try her best.

Jude asks Alvin where he will go now. He does not know and asks why he cares. Jude tells him to come with them. Alvin makes a remark about being babysat. Jude says he is not happy with him over what he did to Leia. He will not forget that. Alvin says that he will apologize to her. Jude: "You do that." Teepo tries to reason with Jude to not let the liar back into the part because he will backstab them again. Jude silently walks by without a word. He says that Elize wears her heart on her sleeve. Alvin is surprised how fast Jude has grown up already. He assumes Jude must really hate him now. Elize says she hates him too. Alvin thanks her. She asks why. He says that it is good to know how other people feel for a change. In one of the skits, Alvin tries to apologize to Leia who is not sure how she should feel about him right now.

As they stand before the energy amassed at the top of the summit, Rowen notes that the slightest disturbance could collapse the entrance given this spirit clime. There is no telling what put this mass of energy there. It reminds Jude of the channeling circles in spirit artes. Alvin speaks up saying that they should get inside of it before Gaius and Muzet bring it crashing down. He says he will go first. Leia tells him that she will go first instead. As she walks towards it, Elize sticks her tongue out at Alvin and goes in next. They all walk in with Alvin a little quiet. After they go in, Muzet is dragging herself up the summit with Gaius behind her. She has no purpose without Maxwell talking to her. Gaius walks on past her until she starts asking him to give her purpose. He stops. He turns and asks if that means she will betray Maxwell. The scene fades.

Inside the group runs along pathes the light up in a dark room along semi-transparent pathways. The group marvels at what they are seeing as they move along searching for Maxwell. They keep jumping down until they come to an area that has blue cloudy skies, strange golden structures, and a water like surface they are standing on. An old man begins to speak, saying they are on the Temporal Crossroads that he created. Jude asks if he is Maxwell. The old man floating around in the strange contraption confirms that he is indeed the same. He never thoughts humans could get there. Jude wants to know more about Milla and why she was used as bait. Jude says that Milla gave him many things to think about and what he must do, When prompted by Maxwell, he states that he will destroy the schism to save both Rieze Maxia and Elympios. maxwell calls him a fool, stating that the outside is overflowing with spyrixes that will destroy Rieze Maxia. He states that Milla's reason for choosing death was lost to him until now. He blames the group for tempting her away from her mission. Now they plan on destroying the schism and bringing about the end of the world.

Maxwell straight up attacks them. As they fight him, he questions them about what they are doing. Rowen states they know exactly what they are doing. That is why they are doing it. Alvin says they want to know the truth behind Rieze Maxia and Milla being bait. Maxwell does not know how that would change anything. Jude says not knowing gets them nowhere. Maxwell begins by saying two millenia ago, spyrix appeared in this world. Spirits were dying, nature was withering away, and humans were going down the wrong path. Maxwell saved all the animals and spirits he could along with humans born with the ability to produce mana. He created Rieze Maxia and sealing them inside to give them a haven away from spyrix. The world is like an ark that sails until Elympios falls. No one can disembark until then. Alvin is not pleased and Elize says there must be another way. Maxwell says no. Leia says that at this rate the people of Elympios will die. Maxwell says not to pity them as he sent human allies to warn them of what the spyrix would do. The humans persisted. They went a step further and took drastic measures when they saw their spirits were dying.

They launches their assault on Rieze Maxia. Jude assumes this is the incident that happened twenty years ago. That is the reason for the rip in the schism at that time. Maxwell cannot leave where he is, so he created Muzet to eradicate intruders. Exodus managed to get through though. They avoided Maxwell's detection. Since Exodus knew that destroying Maxwell would destroy the schism, he needed bait to lure them out. He created Milla for that purpose. Alvin asks if she knew she was an imposter. Maxwell states that he engraved his words into her heart and had her raised to believe that was who she was. Jude says that means her mission was nothing. He asks if she meant anything to Maxwell. She was an essential cog in his machine, so yes. Jude goes to attack Maxwell, but he puts something in front of him to block himself. Maxwell muses that nothing has changed. he has given them truth. The response is the same. They let their emotions control them and seek to destroy what they do not understand. During the battle that continues, Maxwell uses Mystic Artes which calls out Elemental Meteorites. Maxwell says that it makes no sense that they twisted Milla away from her mission. They say that Milla never changed. Maxwell says this is impossible. They ask if he knows anything about Milla if he does not know her and how she never changed.

They know Milla would never abandon her mission. Maxwell wants an explanation for her actions as her mission was never to destroy the schism. She died to save everybody and she did not do that for Maxwell. Maxwell thinks this is nonsense. The battle continues. Jude is fired up. He hits them with Mystic Artes again. Everybody landed on the ground. Jude stands to his feet. Maxwell says he will keep knocking him down every time. They can barely stand. Maxwell fires magic in Jude's face and knocks him back. Still he stands. He walks towards Maxwell like a badass. He leaps into the air, soaring like an eagle, to punch the forcefield around Maxwell. It suddenly shatters. Jude's fist connects with the old man's face and sends him flying to the ground in his little metal contraption. A wild not dead Milla appears. They think they are dreaming seeing her there. She approaches Jude. She shushs him before he can speak. Milla asks Maxwell if it is not their job to protect humans and spirits alike. Maxwell wonders if the Four brought her back. Milla asks if he is uncertain because it will make him weak. The Four appear to Milla and she asks if they are sure.]

They come at Maxwell again for the final time. They beat him. Milla says she heard Jude calling out to her. Maxwell falls out of his flying mechanism. They all dog pile Milla for a hug. Alvin says he cannot believe this is her. She and Jude smile at each other. The old man is floating there asking why the Four betrayed him. They did not agree with him. They are the ones that brought her to the spirit realm. Maxwell realizes indeed that she made a decision from her own heart. Jude does not understand what life this is for people to be trapped. Maxwell supposes this is why he could not understand and human hearts are complicated. he realizes he lead himself astray. Maintaining the schism takes tremendous amounts of mana, so dispelling it will disperse that energy into the world. That should protect the spirits for a time. It could be up to a few decades. Jude says thank you to Maxwell, saying that they will help Rieze Maxia and Elympios live on together. A wild not now Gaius appears asking if Maxwell is stepping down as the world's god. Maxwell has grown weary of being at the mercy of human hearts. Gaius says he will take his place. Maxwell believes this to be absurd. Gaius believes all he needs is to be willing and able. He will fulfill Maxwell's obligations. Milla does not agree with him either. Gaius does not care. The area rumbles. Maxwell notes there is a great deal of power.

The Lance of Kresnik appears out of a rip in the air. Muzet is there. She says she had no choice because Maxwell refused to speak with her. She will not allow Maxwell to destroy the schism. Muzet attacks Maxwell and tosses him against the Lance. Muzet is psycho about the schism. Maxwell demands that they stop. Muzet says he is too late as a light surrounds Maxwell and he screams. Gaius calls Muzet to him and asks if she is ready. Gaius reaches inside of her(much like Utena) to ull a sword from her chest. Maxwell screams to not unleash 'it'. Muzet's true power: a sword to slice through space and time. Muzet says farewell to Milla. Jude asks why Gaius is doing this. Gaius intends to go to Elympios for the sake of those that were killed and send them to Rieze Maxia where they cannot interfere. Alvin catches Elize to stop her from getting sucked into the sudden wormhole thingie. Milla says no to Maxwell as another wormhole opens up. Maxwell says to leave at once. Gaius is not worthy of the name Maxwell. Gaius says we shall see. The group disappears into the hole that Maxwell opened.

Jude wakes up in a strange room. He asks where he is. He looks over to see Milla. She says hello. Jude is happy. The others come into the room. Leia asks how Jude is feeling. Rowen says they are in Balan's residence. They want to know who that is. Alvin says Balan is his cousin in Elympios. He could have sworn he mentioned him before. They are in Elympios. Balan limps heavily into the room. He saved them. He ran into them was pure luck. Jude asks if Balan thinks they look strange. He says not particularly. Alvin is surprised Balan recognized him after 20 years. Balan says the gun Alvin has was his Uncle's and he should thank him. Alvin says he cannot thank the dead. Balan essentially just says good point. Elize mentions that Balan is a little unusual. Alvin says he is even for Elympios. Jude is staring at Balan's leg and he notices. It was a childhood mishap. They notice the object on Balan's limp leg as he is setting caliberations. Alvin moves to say something about stopping, but Balan continues. Jude notices what it is and Milla confirms it to be a spyrix. Alvin stops her from rashly jumping in. Balan is now able to walk normally. Milla takes a look down at the object on her leg that helps her walk. Balan says he will prepare them a meal.

Having a look around the building, an old lady and a child notice the object on Milla's leg. They both use spyrixes as they both have cardiovascular disease, so they have medical spyrixes implanted inside of them. The child asks Milla if it hurt when she put it on. It did. The child says that without spyrix they would not be able to live normal lives. They say that they will never forget Dr. Mathis for what he did and may his soul rest in peace(:|). Same last name as Jude. Dr. Mathis was the one that created the spyrix they are using, but he apparently died in a boating accident a long time ago(suspicious). Milla says that she never thought of spyrix as being helpful. In the hallway, they overhear some ladies talking about a spyrix tax being raised. They think it is because of the Otherworld Reactor Plan. They mention paying the people of Rieze Maxia compensation for helping with their development. Blah blah tax talk. Somebody needs to figure out the energy crisis or else they will be gone soon. Alvin says it must be nice to be so self-absorbed. Milla says that is just how people are. It would be much mroe frightening in a place where nobody speaks their minds.

Outside Leia notes that there is something off about Elympios. Rowen says there is not a blade of grass anywhere. There are no spirits there. Spirits disappearing means all nature disappears with it. Elympios is dying. There is a poster written in Elympion and Alvin reads it to them. It is about supporting the Otherworld Reactor Plan. An old man walks up asking them to help them pull the plug on the Reactor Plan. he intends to file petitions with the government and they are not cheap. Jude wants to help of course. Jude wonders how Gaius plans on stopping the plan. Milla says with Muzet Gaius could appear here at any moment. As they are moping around all hungry. Alvin tells them Balan should have the food done by now. They go back to eat. As they are entering the building, they run into Balan who is on his way to Helioborg about some new spyrix research. Elize says thank you for the food then becomes embarrassed. Jude interrupts by asking where Balan found them. He says past Helioborg. They were at the foot of a hill on the other side of the complex. He leaves.

The group eats then talks about plans. They talk about heading to the spot Balan was talking about to see if they can get back to Rieze Maxia. Jude does not lan on leaving until he finds a way to help both Rieze Maxia and Elympios. Rowen mentions they should not underestimate what they are up against: spyrix devices, Otherworld Reactor Plan, and Gaius. Jude realized once he landed on this side that eliminating spyrix from Elympios is not possible. They still need to get rid of the schism. Alvin chimes in that he will not agree to anything that hurt his own people. Elize says they need to find something to help the spirits as well. Milla will take extra effort to watch over and protect the birth of new spirits to keep their numbers intact if they cannot eliminate spyrix. Spirits and humans are part of nature's cycle. She will find a way to support both. She will not argue if Jude is convinced they cannot get rid of spyrix. She says they should head to Helioborg and Alvin agrees. Any place working on spyrix is probably involved in the Otherworld Reactor Plan. Jude wants answers from everybody by the time they get there. Rowen wonders if he should support or lead.

People are running and saying that the spyrix research center is under attack. The attackers were using calculatrics without spyrixes(ok :V). Alvin sums this up as spirit artes produced using spyrixes. The attackers did not need them. It is obvious who they are. Jude wants to make sure that Balan is safe. Milla notices something odd looking in the middle of the city and says the entire city is powered by spyrix. Alvin confirms this saying that they live her off of the energy of spirits. Elympios has been doing this since ancient times. They have spirit fossils and little else. Jude wonders why they do not care. Alvin says that Elympions know nothing about spirits creating nature or that spirits are even alive. This is only about fearing that their primary energy source is drying up. Milla questions this. Alvin says they cannot just change overnight. He asks if they could just stop using spirit artes if somebody told them to. Jude says no that he could not. Alvin muses if the Elympions with their lack of mana lobes are just destined for extinction. This is possibly what Maxwell had in mind originally. He envies Milla's strength to get things done and not adhering to destiny's plans.

Alvin: "Change the entire world, huh? That's not really my style, but...maybe just this once."

They arrive at Helioborg, but nobody is there. Jude locates a spyrix casing on the ground. There is a storage case beside it that has a giant hole in it. It likely held spyrixes, but the contents were destroyed. Maybe Gaius was here. The larger facilities and warehouses are destroyed, but not the other buildings. Their goal is not to invade or destroy the military. Elize looks at Alvin then turns to Milla to say that they should look for Balan. An injured female soldier is on the ground calling for help. They go over to help her sit up and she says thank you. She says the attack had a giant sword and there was a flying woman. They told everybody there that they would destroy every spyrix then they ordered everybody to retreat. Jude concludes that Gaius intends on eliminating every last spyrix in the entire world(duh). Alvin thinks this is a little extreme in stopping the Otherworld Reactor Plan. Milla believes that to be a sound plan given that Elympios' situation will not change with access to spyrix. Even one plan ending will mean somebody else coming up to do something similar. By eliminating spyrix, Gaius is going to the heart of the two-world problem. A lot of work, but Gaius is determined.

This puts Balan in danger. Elize is prompted to ask the soldier on the ground if she knows Balan. She says that they may find him in the spyrite research wing, also referred to as the Military Research Wing. alvin is obviously worried. Jude tries to reassure him, but he tells Jude not to worry about anybody but Gaius. Jude tries to interrupt that. Alvin tells him he has enough on his plate and his job is to keep moving forward. They do not have time to worry about the 'sappy' stuff. Teepo wonders where the Military Research Wing is. The soldier points them in the right direction and tells them to be careful. Milla asks if Alvin will be fine and he says to save it. They are having trouble navigating the research area. Alvin is frustrated that they cannot find Balan or Gaius. Jude says they should keep looking. Alvin turns to walk into a room and the groups follows. He starts typing on some sort of console, confirming that they created spyrite with the information Exodus gave to them from Rieze Maxia. This spyrite is called Volt. This confirms also that Gilland really was trying to save Elympios with this technology. Alvin finds out that the spyrite was powered a half hour ago, likely the reason for the chaos earlier.

Jude wonders where it went. It appears that Volt is somewhere on the floor above them. Jude says they should check it out and Milla asks why. He figures that if Gaius activated it then he could be nearby the spyrite. They do not know his intention for activating Volt. Leia wonders if Gaius will even want to listen to them if he is destroying all spyrixes. They will cross that bridge when they come to it. Rowen says those are big words, but it may be difficult for Jude to raised a hand against him since he also respects Milla. Jude needs to follow his own path or he will never make his own decisions. The lights go out in the hallway for a moment. They run into Volt soon enough. It is not tethered to a person. They fight and defeat Volt. They find that spyrites are just as strong as the Great Spirits. Gaius and Muzet appear out of nowhere. They did not expect to see the group there. Jude wonders if he activated Volt to test its potential, but Gaius denies that. He attempted to tether with a spyrite, something another would have considered. it did not work. Their power is beyond human control. Apparently this is enough to conclude that all spyrix must be eliminated. To Gaius, this would end the Otherworld Reactor Plan once and for all(ends justify the means). They intend to leave the schism in place. As long as the threat of spyrixes and Elymios exists, exploiting Rieze Maxia is always a problem.

Milla asks about where Maxwell would be. Once again, Gaius states that the strong makes sure the weak do not perish. He intends to safeguard the schism until every last spyrix is destroyed then he will unite the two worlds together. Milla brings up all the people that will suffer when the spyrixes are eliminated. Muzet tells them that Gaius will protect them. He points at Jude and Milla and says that they of all people should understand his ideals. Jude wonders what the point of ideals is when you force them on others. Syrix is a necessity for the Elympions. Taking it away will leave them with nothing. Gaius: "You talk only of possibilities. I demand certainties." Gaius and Muzet leave and Leia asks what they should do now. Jude is frustrated, but there are still things to be done. As they are looking around, Alvin sees Balan in an elevator and shouts out to him. He sees them. Rowen notes that the elevator must have stopped working when the power went out. They will have to find a way to get them out. Jude says they can use Volt. Alvin is dumbfounded. Jude plans on attempting to tether with it. He picks up a stone on the ground and puts it in a device. Volt appears to listen to him, but increasing power gives him the same backlash as Gilland had with Celsius. Milla walks over to help. Jude wants to protest. Milla wonders why he insists on doing reckless things himself. All of them put their hands in to help.

The elevator is finally able to get to them. The people he has with him have conditions that even spyrixes cannot help with. This means that the next generation spyrixes they have been researching are the spyrites. They all have spyrites with them. They are lesser spirit spyrites. They are not sure how spyrites are made, so Balan tells them to speak to the other engineer. He gives them a small rundown that Rieze Maxians can pour mana into a spirit fossil and VOILA. One needs a booster to do this though. If someone with a booster pumps mana into a spirit fossil, the calculatrics arte inside takes physical form. Alvin asks the best question ever: What is the difference between spyrixes and spyrites? It is a matter of arte precision. Spyrites can be as precise as the aspyrixis devices from back in the day. Aspyrixis still consumes spirits though. Spyrites run on their own mana from inside the spirit fossil. Milla wonders how these people are using the spyrites so easily. Spyrites like Volt, a Great Spirit, are on a whole other level. The more powerful it is means the less successful a tethering might be. They still only have a 50% success rate. At that rate, spyrites of lesser spirits could completely replace regular spyrixes someday. Elympios' environment could improve someday as well.

Jude thanks Balan, but he wants to thank them instead. They saved the spyrite research. They have found their path. Alvin asks Balan the exact spot they were found at. They were found at the end of Rusalle Highroad. Leia thinks this is the chance they can talk to Gaius about, but Jude says it is too late. That was their only chance back there with Volt. They run into a man that Alvin gets to talk to them by saying his relation to Gilland. They have passed down legends of another world since antiquity. Alvin tells the man to tell them about the Otherworld Reactor Plan. Around when Alvin was born was when the legends of Maxwell and Rieze Maxia became more believable when they detected an unusual distortion in space. Research was showing that there were vast amounts of energy circulating beyond it. This lead to the birth of the Department of Otherworld Affairs' predecessor(Next Gen Energy Bureau). They developed equipment to widen the distortion to study what was out there. It was okay at first. There was a passenger ship, the E.S.S. Zenethra, that was close to the site when the equipment went haywire. The ship disappeared without a trace.

The experiment was thought to have been a failure until they got a transmission from Gilland himself. The Zenethra had ended up on the other world and he had created a device to punch a hole through the distortion. He found a solution to the energy problem as well. He planned on using the energy circulating in the other world as a reactor. Milla asks what would happen to people in the other world and the man asks her if she is with the anti-governmentalists. The opposition party is using the issue of otherworld people's rights as a shield against Otherworld Reactor Plan. The man is steadfast in the plan as they have no other solution to their problems in Elympios. Jude reminds Milla that she cannot change the man's mind. She agrees.

Milla and Elize overhear a woman that sounds like Muzet with another woman. Elize wants to go in, but Milla is worried about the other person in there with her. There is a crashing. They go inside to find the woman on the floor. Milla demands to know where Muzet is. The woman asks if they know Muzet or are friends with her. Elize asks if the woman is okay. They sit the woman back on her bed. Milla believes that Muzet went out the window. Milla notices that the woman is blind. She can sense them though. Milal tries to ask about what Muzet was doing there. The old woman wonders why she is so interesting in Muzet. Elize states that Milla is Muzet's sister. Since this makes it seem like they do not intend any harm on Muzet, the old woman tells them that she met Muzet five years ago when the woman's daughter and herself were in an accident. Muzet saved the woman's life, but could not save the daughter. Muzet told the woman she only saved her on a whim though the old woman lost her will to live. She asked Muzet if she would read to her instead. She could tell Muzet hated doing that at first. The woman says that Muzet is a nice girl, though a little timid, and she asks that they please do not hurt her when they find her. The old woman smiles and Milla does not understand.

Back at Balan's place, Milla asks if there are embarrassing stories of Alvin(oh Milla :|) and Balan confirms this happily. The group wants to hear and Alvin says that Balan will be dead to him forever if he says anymore. Balan says how about a bet. Appparently gambling is a long and proud Elympion tradition. He says it does not have to be money, In fact, it could be whether or not they can find a Light-Leaf clover. If they get it then he will tell them some Alvin stories. It is apparently a clover that grows on the sides of roads. It is consider an Elympion good luck charm. Alvin hears that they grow along Rusalle Highroad. Leia states that they have themselves a deal. Milla is intrigued by gambling being a tradition. Alvin says, as they are already out the door, that finding one might be impossible since they could be extinct. Balan wonders if Alvin is going to waste his magnanimity. And this is why Alvin hates gambling. Of course they find the clover and Alvin gets frustrated since Balan said they were extinct(liar c:). Milla is still flabberghasted by Leia thinking this to be a miracle that they found a clover. Suddenly a group of soldiers come out of nowhere saying that they apparently missed one and to hand over the clover(:|). The men will lose a bet if anybody else finds a clover, so they will take it by force.

Of course the soldiers lose. Jude is confused. Alvin says they should go back to Balan's now. Leia is excited about the prospect of hearing an embarrassing story about Alvin. Once again, ladies and gentlemen, this is why Alvin hates gambling. Balan is shocked that they even found one. Leia pressures Balan into fessing up with a story. Alvin wonders glumly which one Balan will tell. He begins with a story about the clover. When Alvin was five, he wanted to do something for Leticia's birthday. He wanted to give her a crown made out of those clovers. Since they were rare, Alvin decided to paint regular clovers the color of the Light-Leaf Clovers. Leia thinks that was brilliant. He gave it to Leticia before the paint was dry and it got all in her hair. He started bawling. He buried his face in her hair as per habit and got paint all over his face. Leia still thinks this is cute.All this talking puts Balan in the mood for Leticia's peach pies. Alvin wants Balan to hold onto those memories. Even though Leticia never made it home, they can do that much. Alvin is glad he made it back.

They are walking down a hallway in an area when the group comes across a woman and a child. The child is saying he can see and thank you. Jude is surprised that the woman appears to be from Rieze Maxia. The child gushes about how he is able to see now due to a spyrite the lady has given him. They come inside of a room where Balan and other people are at where Leia looks around with amazement. Other people in the room are Rieze Maxians and have been cooperating to get valuable data. Rieze Maxians and Elympions are biologically identical. Leia asks how that is since Elympions supposedly have no mana lobes. They have the same lobe center as Rieze Maxians except theirs devolved where it no longer functions. Alvin steps forward to say that sometimes there are lucky ones who can still use artes without a spyrix. It is exceedingly rare and usually they are entertainers or religious figures. Leia wonders how their mana lobes devolved. Balan says that one reason is because the use of spyrix meant they no longer needed to use them, but the bigger reason is that Maxwell took all of the people with developed mana lobes when he created Riexe Maxia. This is referred to as "The Great Departure" in legends. Discovering Rieze Maxia confirmed it. Leia says then basically they are all the same kind of human from the same world. Leia: "Then I'm sure we can all work together. ust like you guys are doing here!"

The people in the room lower their heads. Leia thinks she said something wrong. ude wonders how they all got over to Elympios. Milla and Jude conclude that the Rieze Maxians here were brought under duress when the military invaded Rieze Maxia. Balan is ashamed and apologizes on behalf of Elympion military. He reassures them that their rights have not been violated and they are cooperating of their own free will. One Rieze Maxian is happy to be there and others just want to go home even without a reward for their services. There is a little back and forth with Balan basically asking for their help. Jude says they are all human which makes this so difficult. They find the rift they need to return to Rieze Maxia. The rift is noted to be a little small and leaping through it would be a leap of faith. They are all a little unsure. Leia suggests going back to town to find another way. Jude stops them, saying that if they plan on returning to Rieze Maxia then they will be parting ways. He says that they pulled a successful spyrite tethering together along with some great news, but he thinks the only way to stop Gaius is to fight him. He does not want the way they feel now to get in the way of how they truly feel. They should make their own decisions. Leia asks for more time to think. When Jude and the others walk off, Milla tells herself out loud to not let her current emotions get in the way. Jude runs back to her and she begins to walk away. ude sees an object on the ground.

It looks like the spirit fossil they had in the aspyrixis on Milla's leg. She continues walking away while Jude watches after her. Later at night, Elize walks outside to see Alvin sitting on a swing alone. She asks him what he is doing and he says he figured he would stay away since everyone is sick of him. Teepo pops in saying that maybe it is because he is a big fat liar. He says that is just who he is all right. He asks about Elize, asking if she is wondering what to do. She says yes and that she just does not know what the right choice is. He says she is speaking to the wrong person because he never had much of a childhood. She asks if he was always a member of Exodus since a child. Alvin confirms this, confirming also that he thought it was okay to trick people. When things would go bad, he woul disappear.

Alvin: "I'd take the path of least resistance. I pretty much just did whatever didn't hurt me, that's all."

Elize asks if that means he will not be going with Milla and Jude. He states that Jude makes him wake up to reality. They are all so mature the way they hide their feelings about him. Teepo says that 'he' gets it: Alvin is lonely. He says that even if they do hate him he will ust stick it out. He will not leave this time. Elize wants to know if that means that he really wants to be their friend again. Alvin: "I've learned that building real trust with people takes a lot more work than you think. It seems like the older you get, the tougher it is to share your feelings with others. Anyways, no one will want to be friends with me until I can make the first move. It's hard, but it sure beats being alone." Elize is silent a moment before wondering what she is supposed to do to be happy. Alvin replies that it is different for everybody and the other has to find what works for them. Elize says it has not been easy, but she has learned a lot from traveling with everybody. She knows she does not want to stop, she wants to learn more, and make new friends. Alvin says that sounds pretty good to him. Teepo makes a comment and Alvin says that he is the wrong guy to ask, apologizing to her. Elize gets up and kisses Alvin's cheeks, startling him. She says that is a thank you and that from now on she will be his friend. Alvin wonders why the kids are the wisest people in the group.

Rowen is walking down the street when he runs into Leia. He asks if she has trouble sleeping. She says she has yet to make up her mind. Rowen has reached his decision to go with them. Leia wonders if she is the only on that has not made a decision yet. He tells her she is not alone. Cline passed away leaving Rowen to inherit the keys to the kingdom and many doubts. Leia questions whether he figured out what to do in the end. She goes on to say that she used to believe everything would work out if you do your best. She has been proven wrong every time. Agria still haunts her. She thinks that there must have been something else she could have done. Rowen knows that feeling well. Leia asks if it is Nachtigal and Rowen laughs. He tells her that life does not become any simpler when you get older. He says she is surprised because he thought that Jude was all that Leia ever had on her mind. She says not to be silly, but then asks if it is that obvious. Rowen confirms that. She once thought that if she became a nurse that she might find happiness. When Jude is happy, she is happy. She is starting to get the feeling that Jude is better off without her. She does not want to get in his way again.

Rowen asks if she would like to know his reasoning for going with Jude and Milla. He wants to be there with them in the future they wish to create. He plans to take the lead and pull those two along behind him. That is his true desire. She wonders what she wants and Rowen says she should already know that. What she wants is to see Jude's smiling face again. That is her reason and she feels it is a good enough one. Elsewhere Milla steps outside and walks over to Jude who is sitting on a bench. He asks if she wants to sit. She says that he has changed. He says not really. He is too scared to sleep. Milla states that they will dispel the schism and handle everything from there. There is no reason for him to be afraid. Jude cuts in asking her if the Temporal Crossroads will disappear if the schism disappears. She says yes. The destruction of the schism will spell the death of Maxwell. The Temporal Crossroads was born of Maxwell and a unique spirit clime. They will all vanish. He asks why she never told him before as he holds up the spirit fossil. She pulls a sad face and states that the spirits will nee a new Maxwell because Maxwell is essential. Jude asks if that means they will not be able to stay together anymore.

Milla: "The sadness of parting is a human emotion. Such emotions no longer apply to me."

Jude assumes there is no other way. Maxwell created her, so perhaps he could restore her human body. She asks Jude if that is what he really wants. She tells him they should create a future for all spirits and people together. He says thank you. Gaius steps up behing them. They asks where Muzet is. He tells them to relax, that he has come here to tell them something. He is ready to commence the operation to wipe out all spyrix in Elympios. His attack from before was just to check if spyrites were usable. He confirms this. Jude is confused. Gaius states that their dreams for the future are vastly different. He holds up a strange dagger and says that it is a piece of Muzet's power(the power to slice through space). Milla wants to know the catch. Gaius says it will give them a chance to return to Rieze Maxia quietly. Milla muses that he still gives them a chance to end things peacefully. Jude says he knows well they do not walk the same path. So he says, but Gaius wonders if Milla agrees with that. She asks why should she. He goes on, saying one can only handle so much. Muzet is torn. She has incredible power, but does not know how to use it. he says in hindisght, he was cruel to force a weak person to become strong so suddenly. He wants to save her and the rest of his people. He asks them to stand down and allow him to take over.

Milla says that will not change her mission. It has never changed. Gaius walks away. Milla informs Jude that choices matter. They are meaningful because they are our choices. Following the will of others goes nowhere. Their choice right now is more important than their own survival. She asks Jude to watch over her so that she will remain on her path until the very end. He promises.

In the morning, they all meet outside where Jude is waiting for them. Alvin says it may have been the best sleep he has ever had. They all say they are coming. Jude shows them the knife Gaius gave them. Elize asks if that means they can tear through the breach. It looks like it. Alvin states that Gaius is mocking them and Leia trusn to him to say that she does not think so, that he is a good guy despite them fighting against each other. Alvin is appreciative that she is speaking to him again. He thanks her and she stammers a you're welcome before turning away with a blush. Teepo busts in saying that it is a shame that no one is here to send of the heroes. They say they are unsung heroes. They give their own cheer while standing in a circle and putting their fists together(LET OUR POWERS COMBINE).

Before they go, there is a skit in reference to Alvin's family. The three ladies that usually stand around being self-absorbed say that the Svent family finally settled on a new patriarch. One asks if the old patriarch died in the Zenethra accident twenty years earlier along with his wife, son, and younger brother. Another says that the real tragedy were the heirs fighting for his title. Alvin confirms that yes he is Svent and they are a famous family in Elympios. His Uncle Gilland was his dad's little brother and head of one of the lesser Svent lines. He always resented Alvin's family for having the stronger position in the line of succession. Alvin's dad died in the accident that left them stranded in Rieze Maxia, leaving Alvin and Leticia alone. Gilland saw this as a chance for revenge but worse: He tried to take advantage of the situation to legally steal Alvin's claim to the family leadership. He used the Svent name to create Exodus and push the Otherworld Reactor Plan, so when he came back to Elympios he would claim the family mantle. Jude is shocked this was all schemed for two decades from another world. Alvin sarcastically admits he has to admire his uncle's persistence. If they had not succeeded Alvin would have been erased the moment the plan succeeded. Jude asks if he plans on going back home.

Alvin says that they heard the women: He has no place back there. He has been feral for too long and could not rejoin the noble elite. Jude makes a disappointed 'oh' when Alvin says they are stuck with him. Alvin chides that he could have tried to hide his disappointment.

The group approaches the rift at the end of Ruselle Highroad. Milla turns to Jude and he uses the dagger to slice open a space hole. Elize is a bit hesitent as the others try to encourage her and go through. Alvin stops them, asking if they think they can beat Giaus and Muzet as they are. Milla thinks he is saying that he has cold feet. Jude says that is not it. Alvin further asks if they should take care of any business in Rieze Maxia first. Milla says they could get back to Rieze Maxia through the Temporal Crossroads.

In Rieze Maxia, Alvin is staring down at the bed where his mother had been resting. As mentioned in a previous cutscene, he received a message through a sylphjay that his mother passed away. He asks Isla if she already buried her and she confirms that she did. She says that when she got here, Leticia had already departed. Jude says sorry and Alvin says that he will be okay, that he is actually kind of relieved now. Milla speaks of human burdens and alvin says he never thought that Milla would console him. He then asks Isla how Leticia really died. He interrupts Isla during her explanation to ask if it was the poison, how his mother knew Isla was mixing that into her food. When his mother was lucid, she told him about the poison in a letter. Isla states that Leticia lied and if she knew about it why would she eat it. Alvin says to not strain herself as she is not a good liar(Alvin would know :V). She tries to place blame on Alvin and his group trapping her here. She runs off. She is on a bridge in Royal Hunting Grounds. Jude asks why she killed Alvin's mother. Alvin says that she did it because his mom being alive meant she could not have her happy ending.

Isla whines that is correct. She does not want anything else to do with Exodus and that she wants the happy life she worked so hard for. Alvin asks her if his mother suffered. Isla shakes her head. Milla asks if he is going to let her go. Alvin says that his mother knew she was not long for this world. In her last letter, she asked Alvin to set Isla free after she died. Even if it meant she would never return to the home she loved. Isla claims to not believe him, that he will blackmail her again. She has to destroy all the evidence and erase her former self. Or else she will not be truly happy. She jumps off the bridge and they take her back to Xian Du. There Yurgen is by her bedside. She will live due to their first aid. The issue is that she begins to talk like she is a child, asking her mother not to sell her. Yurgen says he will always be there for her whether she gets better or not. Yurgen asks if it is okay for them to stay there as this was Leticia's room. Alvin does not mind, but he will be taking a gun belt with him since he promised his mom he would take it home with him. She was a great mom he says.

Apparently Jude is in the clear now since Gilland's betrayal and the Exodus situation. An acquaintance of Jude's(Mr. Eldin) asks about Alvin. Mr. Eldin did not know him personally, but he and his wife used to live close to the woman Alvin lived with. The woman's name was Mink. She is described as a woman with glasses and was always carrying a book around. Leia wonders if that was Presa. Mr. Eldin does not know, but he is sure Mink was not her real name. He wanted to talk to Alvin to tell him her real identity. She was a spy: One of the Rats. They are spies from one of the Auj Oule clans. Mink would befriend Rashugal nobles and military officers to get their secrets. Mr. Eldin leaves. Leia wonders what they should do, saying that if Presa never wanted him to know about it then they should keep her secret(assuming that Alvin did not already know).

The group goes to Nia Khera where Milla asks if there have been any significant changes. Ivar is missing of course. Jude apologizes, but it is not necessary. This is after the battle Jude had with him. The old man talking to them says that one of the young folk found something at the base of the Hallowmont. It is addressed to 'Al'. It is a letter basically thanking him for betraying her so sweetly and apologizing that her living as Presa means she chose to betray him. She apologizes. Alvin stands silently then runs out of the room quickly. They find him at the summit where Presa fell. He tells the group that Presa's team was wiped out because of information he acquired by deceiving her. The last thing she said was that she worried about him. She knew that he would go back to the group. They tell him to take as long as he needs because they will wait for him.

Alvin: "I'm going to keep at it. I'll protect all that you've given me."

He begins to walk away then stops. He turns and says that Jill was always his favorite name and goodbye.

In Leronde, they find Jude's mother Ellen outside the clinic telling some people to calm down. Jude asks what is wrong. There has been a cave-in at the mine and two people are trapped. One of them is Dr. Mathis. Leia asks what they should do. The people want to go in to save him. Jude tells them that he will go check himself. Inside the mine, they locate Dr. Mathis lying on the ground. He hurt his eyes. He tells them to help the other person on the ground first. Jude tells them not to move the man as he has internal bleeding in his brain. Milla tells them that Gnome sees that there will not be a further cave-in. Jude tells Leia to get back to the clinic to get them prepared for the patient. Jude will treat the patient using Healer since it is dangerous to move the man. Dr. Mathis chooses that moment to criticize his choice and tell him that one mistake will kill the man instantly. He tells his father that this is okay because it is his decision to make. Back in town, Dr. Mathis can see and the patient is stabilized. The miner said to thank Jude. Milla apologizes, but Jude will be going with her still. Dr. Mathis says he will not stop him. It is his decision. He also tells Jude he was correct in what he did for the patient. Dr. Mathis is proud of him.

There is another patient that Dr. Mathis is helping where Alvin and Leia are in earshot. There is a girl on a bed and her brother asking if she will be okay and will be able to walk again with extensive physical therapy. The brother asks about a device that can help her walk. Dr. Mathis denies the existence of the device. Leia steps forward to say not to worry. She knows the girl will be better. She got hurt badly when she was younger and Dr. Mathis' physical therapy made her as good as new. Leia adds that she looks great now if she does say so herself. Alvin remarks if anything she has too much energy. Jude says he does not know how Leia was injured and Milla thinks back when Leia told her about the spyrix explosion.

Dr. Mathis and Leia's dad are talking. Leia's dad asks what he will do and Dr. Mathis says nothing. He disposed of them at the Old Vicalle Mine. He will not allow that tragedy to happen again. Leia's dad does not blame him for what happened to Leia when she was younger. He saved her life after all. The brother will likely go to the Old Vicalle Mine now that he overheard. In the morning, they find out that the boy disappeared. Jude remembers about the information from last night. They go to the mine and find the brother. He has spotted some machine that are spyrix. Leia shouts for him to get away. She tells him to get out of the way and it explodes. Leia explains that she remembered her old accident when that happened to her. She was playing with a spyrix in the doc's room when it blew up. Jude is shocked his father could be so careless. Back at the clinic, Jude asks his father is he hid the spyrixes in the mine and why he had them in the first place. Dr. Mathis admits that he comes from Elympios. He came twenty years ago. Derrick was a passenger on the Zenethra where Alvin came from. He settled down with Ellen after wandering around for a while.

This makes Jude half Rieze Maxian, half Elympion. Alvin asks if he is shocked. Jude says not really. Milla wonders if a medical aspyrixis is just a spyrix. Aspyrixis are modified to channel mana produced by one's mana lobe. They do not kill spirits, but they bear another price: Having to endure the physical pain. Dr. Mathis learned that spyrix killed spirits only when he came to Rieze Maxia. He could not use them in good conscience when he realized that. Jude explains to him what a spyrite is. To be able to get spyrites to replace spyrixes, Rieze Maxia and Elympios will have to work together. The little girl says she will do the physical therapy and her brother will support her. Dr. Mathis apologizes to Leia for not storing the spyrix properly. She says not to worry then Milla embarrasses her about her notes about Jude. Fin.

Now back to going through the Crossroads. Leia jumps in first. Alvin carries Elize through. Rowen follows. Milla and Jude jump through together. On the other side, they end up in a weird place. Gaius must have altered things. Leia runs up and says that she found another breach like the one they came through. She went through it and it leads to Rieze Maxia, so she knows they cannot go that way. Elize turns to point in another direction, saying that Gaius and Muzet must be that way. Rowen notes the dilemma they are in. They run into Wingul eventually. He tells them to turn back. He will protect his Highness.He calls it fickle self-righteousness that they would side with the Elympions. He does not understand what Gaius sees in them and will kill them before they become a further burden. He goes Super Saiyan. They defeat him. Wingul says that Gaius is right. Destroying the spyrixes will change the world. Rowen shakes his head. Forcing a world to change along a path it has not chosen is not going to work. Wingul claims to not be finished with them. He will help Gaius because it is Gaius and he is obsessed.

He goes Super Saiyan again, but it all goes wrong. He is having a reaction to the booster. He shoves his sword into the ground and the blocks beneath the party waver and tumble away, taking them downward. Wingul dies saying that maybe Rowen understands how he feels: Only Gaius can rule the world. Meanwhile the group is split up on floating sections of rock they can not simply jump from place to place on. Jude says they should all continue forward since they are going to the same place. Alvin stands up and asks if this is a race because he will get there first. Rowen chides him. They all announce how they will get there first. Milla sees Jude as she is jumping along. She fights off a monster. Jude joins her. Jude had a feeling it would happen this way. They both get to Gaius and Muzet first. Jude asks why everything ended up this way. Gaius says no one is to blame. Milla tells Muzet to return Maxwell to them. She tells Milla that Maxwell is no longer needed. Milla retorts saying that everybody is needed. If Maxwell is not then neither are they. Muzet shouts back that she does not need a lecture. Jude tries to talk, but Gaius says there is nothing left to discuss here.

Maxwell appears. He says he will sever the link between the Temporal Crossroads and the outside world and take on those two himself. Gaius is angry. Jude asks about Muzet's power. Maxwell intends to sever the link before she can use her power. Jude tells him to hold on because their friends are there as well. Maxwell states it is too late and he apologizes. This is their last chance. Milla questions what will happen with the schism. When the space collapses, the schism will vanish. Muzet gets pissy. Maxwell regrets putting her through this ordeal. She gets further pissy, telling him she will not allow him to take things from her again. She fires something at him and he teleports away. Maxwell tells Jude and Milla to return to the outside world. Gaius goes after Maxwell after making his disappear again, leaving Jude and Milla to take on Muzet. They defeat her. Muzet opens up a space tear to probably get to Gaius. Jude and Milla go in search of them.

They get to the Lance where Maxwell is fighting Gaius and Muzet. Maxwell is angry that Milla and Jude have come. Gaius demands that Muzet give him strength. He reaches into her chest to pull out the weapon and he slashes Maxwell with that. Muzet does not understand why they keep trying to stop them. Gaius says that doing this will make Jude lose who is most precious to him. Jude says that if he runs then he would really lose her. Milla will not have Jude see her back down either. Gaius finds their resolve commendable. He will also not stray from his path either. Gaius powers up and his clothing magically changes. Jude and Milla begin the fight with Gaius and Muzet. Leia appears and Mystic Artes out of nowhere. Alvin joins the party and Mystic Artes out of nowhere too. Elize appears and Mystic Artes. Rowen joins and Mystic Artes. Bye bye, Muzet. They win. Milla calls out the Four and frees Maxwell, disentegrating the Lance. Gaius states that what they are planning will only cause more suffering whether or not spyrites are perfected or not. He believes it to be pure fantasy that the two worlds will cooperate. Jude says his dreams might be naive, but Milla never stopped believing in him. He says Gaius never did either. Gaius wonders why that matters now. Jude admits he was scared during the entire journey. He will get stronger and he wants Gaius to believe in him too.

Milla states that humans strive to become stronger. They grow more for the sake of others. They rise to the occasion and this fills her with hope for the future. There are many possibilities. She will cherish it. She knows that Gaius understands this. He claims that he does not and how he will rise again when those possibilities evaporate. Jude approaches him and holds out his hand, telling him he will not have to do anything. Milla steps over to Muzet holding out her hand and saying that if living is too painful then she can join them. Muzet thanks her. Maxwell states that he has seen that Milla has made up her mind. The others are shocked when she states that she will become Maxwell. Maxwell says that she may use the schism's mana to become human again if she so desires. She shakes her head. He tells her to watch over the spirits. Jude says to wait. Milla is afraid that this is farewell and their fates were always intertwined in mysterious ways. She thanks him for everything. He tries to say something else. Whatever he wanted to say is gone and he smiles at her, stating that he is sorry for all the time he was weak and that he thinks he will be just fine now.

Elize tries to talk, but Teepo does it for her. He says that Elize loves her tons and so does he. Leia wonders if they will be able to see each other again. Rowen says it has been a pleasure. Alvin is pissed because she never told them. Milla turns away and says that she is ready. Maxwell makes it so. The schism is dispelled. Mana drops down into Elympios and nature begins to form again. Maxwell disentegrates. Jude reaches over to take Milla's hand and tells her everything is all right. She states that she is Milla Maxwell, Lord of the Spirits. She is crying. She says she will be okay. Their fingers entertwine. The rip disappears.

Somewhere Alvin is in a bar laughing about whatever he wants to laugh about(some guy's misfortune). He got a letter from somebody. He says that he does not have much to report. Yurgen invited him to start a business together. Yurgen is thinking of ways to connect Rieze Maxia and Elympios. He tells whoever the letter is going to swing by and say hi. Leia is no longer pursuing nursing. At the moment, she is helping out at her family's lodge. She slips as she is trying to deliver food and her dad catches her. Sonia tells them to stop goofing around. She has a dream to settle down and start a family that cares for each other just like her mom and dad. She does not know if things will work out, but she will try. Elize is putting Teepo in a box and Driselle says that her friends are there. She is going to the same school that Driselle went to. She is not comfortable yet with talking. She still loves spending time with them. Rowen states in his letter that Gaius is awaiting the day when the promise the group made to him becomes reality.

Rowen is enjoying his new life. He is teaching lessons in Kanbalar and stands beside Gaius. This is what he was meant to do. Jude is glad to hear that they are all doing so well. He is researching spyrites. The results have been mixed. More and more people are slowly realizing what spyrites' potential can be. He puts some letters in for Milla on the back of a sylphjay. Elsewhere Milla is in a field with Muzet and the other spirits. She sees the sylphjay fly overhead then disappear. She faces the sun and smiles, proclaiming that she is proud of the path she has chosen.
